Brilliant!
The media could not be loaded. Don’t know about kids, but I loved this (I’m a 56 year-old man!); I treated myself to this as a wee Christmas gift. It’s really well made, the instructions are clear and easy to follow with true to life illustrations of each component. I thoroughly enjoyed the mindful couple of hours spent bolting it together. The dog’s not too impressed, though! Highly recommended.

Good for developing some resilience and independence
Bought this for my ten year old for Christmas. He has enjoyed making it. Some of the bits are a little tricky but it is a reasonable toy to encourage some resilience and problem solving skills.

Waste of money
Waste of money, it never worked, very disappointed grandson. UPDATE: It is now showing as currently unavailable, I wonder why.

Not as good as I’d hoped.
My daughter and I spent about 1/2 an hour building this up and getting ready to play with it. The instructions are pretty clear, and while it’s not simple to build - it’s not overly complex. When we turned it on, we were a bit disappointed with it - the pre-assembled gearbox (that we had nothing to do with making) slipped, made grinding noises and generally failed to make the spider move.I’ve managed to add a cable tie and pack the motor-mounting out a little which has made it marginally better - but the spider-robot my kid expected to scuttle about the dining table simply sits still and makes horrid noises
