Best part is , my gerbils love it and now there is no sand coming out of the sand box...the edges are bit sharp so I do not keep the cover open as this can seriously hurt your gerbils....this is a nice hide outs for gerbils and my gerbils spend quite a few hours inside it and they seem to like it ...cleaning the bottom of the box is little hard as its made of wood

If the soil or sand you fill with is even slightly damp then the wood immediately swells up making the back nearly fall off and the lid fall in. It’s ok but I won’t be purchasing again and will replace with a Perspex design dig box

It is pretty and syrian hamster gets to dig whilst keeping the sand in. My only criticism is it does not have a lot of depth but hamster loves it for the few minutes digging before exhausting the space.

Perfect size for my 2 gerbils. I dont leave it in the cage with them as would easily get destroyed due to being made from wood.Keeps the sand in place and my gerbils love climbing in and out and rolling around in it.Easy to empty the sand but not easy to clean the wood due to the nature of the sand bath if it gets dirty.

This is my 3rd purchase for my gerbils. (Have 2 pairs gerbils). Is excellent as sand 'contained' and sand doesnt get kicked out too much. They love popping in and out the holes and pop into there to eat treats! They use it as their toilet but it is easy to tip out sand to either sieve or change. Urine does soak into wood on base but easy to clean with small animal cage cleaner. Needed 3rd one as one of my gerbil pairs decided to completely chomp their first one, but bought another one as it is a good product for gerbils. I fill this sandbath with few cm depth play sand (bake in oven 20 mins and let cool first)

Perfect for my gerbils. Only half filled is perfect. Only time will tell if they eat it
