Very safe and effective
The active ingredient in this product is iron phosphate, which is used in nutritional substances and so would appear to be safe for humans. According the the environmental Protection agency, it is also safe for pets, but it is attractive to snails and slugs and interferes with calcium metabolism in their gut, causing them to stop eating anything almost immediately. As a solid, it presumably stays in the soil and doesn't add significantly to the phosphate level of ground water.I don't subscribe to the objective of eliminating snails and slugs from my garden completely, but it is bordered by woodlands, so things can easily get out of control during the wet spells. Usually, one or two applications around the perimeter of a garden after heavy rains in the Spring is sufficient to keep the population manageable throughout the year. Much easier and less messy than leaving out saucers of beer!

Sluggo Is Great
I had just planted 2 Lemon Thyme plants and needed to get Sluggo on them. Come to find out I didn't have any. Ordered it, it arrived . But to my on fault the darn slugs had eaten all the leaves off my plants. Well I fertilized and watered and put the new Sluggo and there growing again. My main problem is one of my Chickens is a jumper. and she jumps up and out of her fenced yard and she is always eating my bait. Thankfully it doesn't harm her. But Sluggo works great. I don't feel I'm harming the earth with it. I buy it in 10 pounds container and that will last me one year. I garden about an acer. And living in the Northwest we all have an over abundance of slugs and moles.

So far it is working;
So far it is working; I am somewhat concerned as to whether it really is pet safe based on my on line research--but i have been keeping my dogs away from it

Sluggo is far and away the easiest and most effective ...
Sluggo is far and away the easiest and most effective way to battle snails and slugs I have run across -- and I've tried most techniques. Applying Sluggo early in the spring tends to stop the ones that have survived winter from breeding and infesting the garden. One or two applications during the summer -- followed by a final application in late September does the trick for me.

Doesn't work well in Washington
Not nearly as good as Corry's and something seems to be eating all the pellets, they are just about gone in a couple days, perhaps birds taking them? Not sure but that never happens with Corry's
