Velo OrangeTouring Pedals Sealed Bearing

So I got these, feeling guilty about not buying a $5 used set at the local bike co-op, and when they arrived, I realized they were worth every penny. Opening the box, the pedals were far lighter than anything I would have found used, and the quality was apparent as I admired the machined platforms and smooth bearings. Clearly these pedals were well made, and once I had them installed on the bike, I realized they were exactly what I had wanted, that my old, single sided pedals were not. They grip various shoes well and function beautifully, so their beauty is far more than skin deep. They function as pedals should, linking you to the bike and disappearing from your radar.As I thought about the cost more, I realized that really, for brand new pedals, made as nicely as they are, they're actually quite a good deal. New, cheap clipless pedals run double this and aren't practical for everyday bikes, while these are great for everything that you'd want to ride daily.

Beautifully finished, one piece body. Very high quality and very light to boot. Grips well enough on all types of shoe soles. Could be a little longer but I wouldn’t ding it for that.

Smooth and easy. I was using pedals that clipped on one side and were just regular pedals on the other side but I hardly ever clipped in and never felt comfortable clipped in on a heavy loaded bicycle. My shoes grip really well to these pedals and my knees feel much better. Did I say how smooth these are?

Have taken them on multiple tours now! Love the look and ride. I do wish they mounted with a traditional pedal wrench, but they can only be mounted with an allen wrench.

They seem to be well finished and very light. They also grip the soles of my cleat-less (Chrome) biking shoes and that is reassuring. No slipping so far.

Good pedals for light touring, and when matched with 1/2 Moon Clips, more efficient for those hills !!Enough real estate for a good variety of shoes.TL
