The Vienna Boys Choir, the oldest boys' choir in the world, is certainly one of Austria's most famous cultural exports. Having recorded and toured the world extensively for decades, they are recognized for the purity of their sound and the joy of their music making. For this all-new holiday album, special guest artists Aida Garifullina and Rolando Villaz¢n join the choir for an eclectic selection of holiday favorites. The album release will be supported by an extensive US tour.

Wonderful Singing
Great CD. What surprised me that it had so many Christmas Songs in English which was terrific. Saw them personally not too long ago. They have wonderful voices.

The overall sound of this choir is better than the choir in the 2006 "Best of Vienna ...
Delightful collection of Christmas selections as recently performed by the oldest existing boy's choir. The overall sound of this choir is better than the choir in the 2006 "Best of Vienna Boys Choir" CD. The highlights are the traditional German songs sung in complex harmonies for which these boys choirs are noted. Also delightful are the American songs included(Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Let it Snow) in which the boys sing to you in solo or small groups, adding a darling personal touch to these songs. Also included is the John Lennon song "Happy Christmas" with a significant portion sung in solo by the groups current lead soloist. There are several songs with solo parts sung by this young man; his voice has a bell tone with perfect sense of pitch but his weakness would be his minimal vibrato. I loved the cover photo-- a beautiful winter scene overlooking Vienna in which the boys are mischievously throwing snowballs at the hapless photographer. Those who enjoy boy choirs will delight in this CD.

This has to be the worst recording the Vienna Boys Choir has ever made
This has to be the worst recording the Vienna Boys Choir has ever made, crass arrangements of mostly modern popular Christmas songs, most sung in English or should I say American, even Silent Night would you believe. This is the first product of a new collaboration between the choir and DG, if this is the standard they are setting the Choir is on the slippery slope to oblivion.

Super.
Bought for Christmas, and lived up to our hopes. Having been in Vienna when the Boys choir were singing this brought back happy memories.

A Perfect Christmas CD
The Christmas songs of this CD are well-chosen and it's so nice to listen to them whenever we want to have a Christmas mood.
