This is my best soldering iron, and I have had a hand full thru the years.Several reasons why -1. I like the way it heats up fast in seconds.2. I like the Quick (on/off) switch on the handle, when you turn the switch-on, the digital numbers start working displaying the temperature, and the digital display has a backlit display.3. I like the Stand Holder and the small can that holds the tip cleaner, metal brilo pad. - I Just drilled a hole in the stand and mount it using a screw to my soldering table, its a piece of old hard wood about 12"x 24"x1" custom soldering work table.4. The USA plug wire is nice and flexible not so stiff like others.5. The important question is, does it work good? Yes, this is my best soldering iron so far.Cons - Not a deal breaker but, the only issue I would tell the factory to improve this product is the part where you place your fingers needs to have a lip so your fingers don't go past the blue rubber handle padding on the solder pencil, for improved safety, so you don't risk burning your fingers on accident, to reduce the risk of your fingers going past the black screw part that fastens the metal tip parts that heat up.Overall I really like this soldering iron, I think its the best one I ever owned, so far April 2021, and I think its one of the best soldering iron pencils on amazon after researching many. This is the first solder kit I've ever purchased so I did extensive research on what was need for the repair I needed to perform on a laptop. If your a beginner like me, you cannot rely on the instructions in this kit as so much detail is excluded, such as melting point for solder included in this kit, or the fact that you need to tin the tip before use. There are other important materials that should be included in any soldering kit that were not included, such as flux and solder's wick. The solder iron has a small dial for adjusting the temperature that may require the use of a magnifier to read. I should also mention the stand for the soldering iron is just a thin piece of aluminum that you bend for use.... not the most sturdy support for a hot iron. Good kit for occasional use.

The media could not be loaded.  For the price this was the best investment ever, I had originally started installing led lights on my ducky keyboard and I couldnt finish it because the iron stopped melting not even half way..even then it was hard to remove the presolder that were covering the holes...come to find out the desoldering pimp is a godsend! worth every penny!

I lost 2 soldering irons in my garage, and needed something for a quick job with a fine tip, and this worked just fine.

Won’t get hot enough to melt solder

I kept it at the lowest heat and did some quick soldering for my headphones to replace a splitting wire with jack, and turned it into a female port so I can just use an aux cable. It works fine for short-term use. I expect, the plastic will not hold up at maximum heat and prolonged usage, but for my purposes, it was very good for the price. Honestly, better than stuff that I bought from radio shack back in the day for more money. However, if I was at my father's home with a full soldering station, it honestly does not compare. We are talking about a 5-10x cost difference.

The device is sleek looking and comes with some neat accessories. The soldering iron itself is meh. The temperature control seems to have no bearing on the actual temperature set, and basically melts all the tips at the lowest possible setting.I have a 30 year old iron that preforms better than this and it has only a plug and a thumb screw to add a new tip (it looks like a nail)Maybe it’s just my unit.

I fixed a headlight wiring harness and it worked very well. It made much more sense to me for the price and convenience to do it myself and this product did the trick.
