Watch out for fabric composition
Both my husband and my step son wear these. Hubby doesn't want any other, says his butt looks good and his package secure without being tight. I bought a few different colors, pay attention to the fabric, read the product information carefully because, although all are 514, each one has a different % of cotton and elastane, meaning they will feel, wear and wash differently.

What I received were not 514's
I had always gone into stores looking for deals on jeans. Often I would find Levi 514's on sale. It took me about 3 times of finding them on sale to realized they were my favorite jeans because they were so comfortable. It was largely the smooth cotton they used. So this time I ordered my 514's on line. What I received were labeled 514's, but they were quite different than what I was used to. They were made of a heavier, stretchy material. My first thought was to just go ahead and use them because they'd probably fit the same and maybe even be more comfortable because of the stretchy material. So I cut off all the tags and washed them. I was wrong. They're OK, but far from my favorite jeans to wear. I'm still wearing my older 514's as my first choice. I wish now that I had just sent them back.

‘Midnight’ blue Levi’s not as sturdy as Levi’s should be
Update: These Levi’s didn’t live up to the company’s reputation. After just a couple of months, the back belt loop came loose, the stitching holding it down having unraveled. I’m knocking them down to two stars. They’re Levi’s, which means that they should be well made and of good material. I’m not that fond of the way the color fades on the front of the legs, but recognize that it’s stylish— but I was not happy when one of the supposedly “bar-tacked” belt loops tore loose when I hung the jeans on a locker hook.I’m old enough that I think pre-faded blue jeans are cheating— they should be faded from long use, and every hole should have a story. You should be able to tell at a glance where the Levi’s wearer carries his wallet, by the “wallet shape” worn white on his pocket. And blue jeans should button, not zip! [Shut me up now, before I start talking about TVs getting just five stations (in black and white) and riding in the car without seat belts— old folks can be so annoying!]

Not sure why these tore so easily.
Tore with only office work (sitting) over a couple months. Last set of Levi's went through four cave repel trips and full landscaping of five backyards to include digging, using a pick axe, tilling and manual moving of soil and sod. I have muscular legs "-which is why I got the stretch but my last set was identical to this one and it literally went through hell and back.

One fit perfect and the other was about two sizes to small
I ordered two of the very same Levi in the same size. One fit perfect and the other was about two sizes to small. Levi needs to get their act together. This should not happen!!!

If you are looking for stretch jeans, this is your answer
I got tired of inhaling and pulling hard in opposite directions. So, I ordered a couple of pair of those $120 stretch jeans that you may have heard about on the radio as being the best jeans ever!! Unfortunately, those were going to take about 10 days to get to me and I needed them 4 days later for a cycling trip. Amazon Prime to the rescue at $40ish with 2-day delivery. Got them as scheduled and tried them on. Felt great and a perfect fit. Wore them the whole cycling trip when not cycling (although these would work perfectly fine for 2-4 hour cycling trips. I need the extra padding of cycling short Chamois when taking longer trips). Got back home and the $120 jeans were waiting. Tried them on and I like these Lee jeans better. Sent the $120 jeans back to their owner. A couple of caveats: 1) These are REALLY stretchy like 2-4" of extra give. If you don't like lots of stretch, these may not be for you; 2) Because they are REALLY stretchy, they do not sit as securely on your hips as "regular" cotton denim jeans and you will need a belt to help keep them riding where they are supposed to ride. Along that vein, these jeans have an extra elastic band along the waist to help minimize this issue. The $120 jeans did NOT have a similar strip and therefore the problem was much more pronounced on the $120 jeans; 3) Frankly, I thought these were better versions of the $120 jeans at a much cheaper price. I took great care in comparing fabric compositions between these and the $120 versions trying to get the same (or as close as I could get) fabric compositions as the expensive jeans but in the Lee brand. I also tried a Lee variant with different fabric construction. I liked those too but these were better. The secret from my perspective is to get a Lee style with 2-3% elastine in the fabric (as compared to spandex). That was the closest match to the expensive jeans. I have completely replaced my cotton denim jean inventory with these jean. So, yeah, I really like them. Way more comfortable and flexible than the traditional all cotton denim jeans.

Recieved two pair of defected jeans. Don't waste your time.
Do not buy your Levi's jeans though Amazon. The first pair they sent me had a defective stone wash with long streaks going downwards across the whole length of the pants. I am now seeing that the second pair they sent me was cut and and sewn incorrectly which makes the whole pant leg twist over 90 degrees by the time it gets to the bottom. I didn't figure this out until now and my return time has ran out. I will be contacting Levi's to file a complaint. It sure seems like they are trying to get rid of their defected jeans via Amazon. I'm very displeased about the run around. I simply want a new pair of jeans.

Very nice jeans... Legs are a tad slim
I purchased two different Levi's style jeans for my SO: 514 (this order) and 559. He has thick/muscular legs and needs jeans that are loose but not too baggy. Also, it helps if the leg openings accommodate his work boots. This pair (514) seem to be a tad more slim in the legs than the 559's. They are manageable and he's keeping them, but there is definitely a difference in the leg openings. For those that have thick/muscular legs and want a loose pair of jeans with leg room, without the 'baggy' look, I highly recommend the Levi's 559. Other than that, they're are nice quality jeans.

Love levi's 514
I love the fit and stretch material of Levi's 514, then only reason I did not give 5 star rating because the colour was not quite as shown, it was a little darker I was expecting a little bit more faded look.

Waste of time and money
I've worn 514 Levi's for years. These are not it. Paid almost full price, ordered online for convenience. Bad idea. They fit like skinny Jean's, not like Levi's. Complete waste of money.

Great colour and stretch feels good.
Really accurate on sizing; hubby wears a 33x30. These are a looser fit leg but the waist and bum are standard.
