I liked that it has more degrees of accuracy than I needed, so I could be fairly sure that it was accurate enough for me. I did a lot of reading of reviews beforehand and feel very happy with this one. Also, it was easy to use, and good value.

The product recieved was faulty, I have had these type of scales before and they are an all round 5 star product , for accuracy and to use. But to my frustration these have turned up not in workin order

100% accuracy, a great buy

This is not a long-term review; the scale just arrived and I have been setting it up and evaluating it this morning. Time will tell how it holds up. Nevertheless I have some info that you may find interesting... The scale arrived well packed in a decent box with foam insert - good enough to store it in when not in use. I decided to check the calibration out of the box and found it apparently not in need of a re-cal - surprising given its long journey from the source. But then again not so surprising if it is programmed to 'snap-to' the nearest significant weight as another reviewer suggested. I have a set of calibration weights from AWS, from 50g down to 1mg, and as I am looking for usability in the sub-gram range I next tried dropping the 50mg, 20mg (x2) and 10 mg weights directly onto the pan. To my dismay, the scale would either not react, or would show a few digits and then re-zero itself. Completely useless, then, for small fractions of a gram, right? Wrong! Putting the supplied plastic boat onto the pan was a game-changer. Now I could add my tiniest weights, 10mg and even 1mg, and see the difference accurately shown on the display (plus or minus 1mg). Incredible. Surely it would stop working if I zeroed (tared) the scale with the empty boat, though. Nope. with the boat in place and the scale tared, I can see my 20mg, 10mg and even 1mg weights as I drop them into the boat. Amazing. Perhaps there is a lot of production variation and I just got a good one, but based on my experience I have to say that the last digit is not 'random' as another reviewer reckoned. Far from it. Based on this morning's evaluation this scale has far exceeded my expectations of it. ** CAVEAT ** The scale has a silly design flaw - at least mine does - and it needs to be corrected before going any further. With the lid down, the lid actually pushes against the pan - a rather scary situation as it threatens to wreck rather than protect the mechanism as you would hope. My solution was to apply a thin foam rubber bumper to the base to support the front edge of the cover when lowered (see pictures). The other picture shows a 20mg, 10mg and 1mg calibration weight in the boat.
