The mattress was heavier and the new struts lifted the bed easily. According to directions, bed lift weights 69#. Installed according to directions. Secured to 3/4" plywood on one end and 2"x4" on the other end using the factory supplied brackets. Moving the brackets was necessary as they were replacing identical sized struts that were rated for a lesser weight and wouldn't support the bed. Upon trying to mount the new higher weight struts I discovered that they would not support the bed using the original angles. I re-weighed the bed to verify my original determination. Then I installed the new brackets to correspond to the angles in the directions. They support the bed without issue now. However, I am skeptical about the longevity of the mounting brackets as they bend slightly under the weight of the bed when raised.
