The "flat" model is solid and reliable
Perfect product, it locked together a large sectional that is on a hardwood floor, which is probably the toughest challenge it can pass. The system was installed several weeks ago and has not released. I only have one of these connectors despite the size of the couch, and this system has succeeded where other systems failed. We purchased the "flat" model as it strongly resembles the one on another couch. That other system (which came with the couch) also held up solidly through years of use. Previously we had tried other more snazzy looking ones but those have plastic parts and released far too easily, just by sitting down. Judging by the shape of the connector and angle bracket, you have to get the installation dead on or the system may release easily. If the angle bracket is off center (rotated) from teeth, the holding power will decrease significantly. The "flat" model with the angle bracket looks like it will tolerate off-center installation slightly better than the "HD" version with the triangular post, due to the camber in the angle. The previous models from a different manufacturer I have tried had triangular posts and those failed miserably, although it is unclear whether it was due to the triangular post, the strength of the springs, or the plastic clamps (or all three).

easy, worked fine and wife happy
These came just as described - pretty heavy duty to hold our heavy sectional furniture together. Definitely get the swiveling snaps as no matter how good the measurement you do, a bit of a mis-alignment would be well adjusted by the swiveling snaps. One thing that I had a doubt on was that the before attachment, the swiveling part looked pretty hard to move and covered two screw holes and I was wondering if I would be able to use those screws. But once partly attached with two screws, the swivel moved easily and I could get to the now-exposed screw-holes easily and worked just fine. They are expensive for what they do, but they are made well, look and feel durable and worked well on my sectional. cheers

worked great - no more separating couch.
This worked great. I had a sectional that had not been assembled well a kept popping apart. I bought a few of these. They go on the bottom of the couch, and slide and click into place. If you want to separate them, you just lift one section. But, they do not slide apart. As some suggested, I did two for each connecting section. (i.e., i had 3 sections, so used 6 of them.) May be overkill, but no way the couch is coming apart now unless I want it too. One note: this works very well for couches that have cushions extending between the section. THere are other ones that attach on the side and the sections slide into each other, but those sectionals have to be completely flush with each other. THis one works great for sectionals, like mine, that have a slight space between the units. Keep in mind that you will need about 1.5 inches of wood on either side to screw into. The more the better.

Does the job but the price is ridiculous.
The item had no instructions, but was easy to install. One thing you need to know is there are a couple different designs by this distributor that will work for various different types of layouts. I happened to have wood support/trim at the base of my couch, so this design fit best. I was BARELY able to get the pieces to come together and click because you only have 3 or so inches to work with...meaning, if the fabric is thick or areas where you're mounting the pieces are not on the very boundaries of the couch, then the bar may not reach the connector and you'll have to find another option. I really wanted to give this 3 stars because of the price, but the connector does its job and I guess you get what you pay for. If I ended up needing 2 connectors in order to prevent shifting of the chaise, I definitely would have pinged it down to 3 stars.

Great Solution to an Annoying Problem - worth every penny!
Our sectional, purchased a year ago had one bracket already installed. We were not aware of this however and our sofa seemed to be in constant motion. Once discovered, we did all that we could to get it to lock but apparently it was faulty. And so, I turned to Amazon as I do with any problem of this type. We ordered two and installed them immediately. We heard it lock and our sofa has not moved at all since installation. We have a quirky problem where the male bracket was not long enough to engage. We solved that problem by using shims to align it properly. I highly suggest that you place two brackets on your furniture. Having only one creates a pivot point. Two brackets creates stability for that problem. BTW, we have hardwood floors and had tried no skid pads for the feet which did not help us at all.

Easy to install and very sturdy
We have a detached sectional that we could not keep in place. Once installed correctly, two of these did the job. They are sturdy and secure. No more wandering sectional, and they have withstood children who like to tickle on the couch. We did accidentally install one arm upside-down..... but that was easy to correct, and then they held like a charm.

Great couch connector, very sturdy and easy to install!
This couch connector is excellent. I was able to install it on our sectional couch set where the previous connector was plastic and broke soon after the couch was new. For years we dealt with it, but finally in a recent move I decided to the Snap Connector. It was great, made of steel and did the job well. Very easy to install. I would highly recommend it.

perfect
bought a sectional sofa only to realize each section was not attached in any way and slid apart constantly. bought 2 of these to be safe, although one may have been strong enough attached one to the bottom front and one to the bottom rear of each section. they screw in easily assuming there is a piece of wood on the bottom into which you can screw them. you put one part of this item on each sectional piece and they slide it together, and the piece securely ratchets and clicks itself together. easy to install, easy to click together, solved the problem perfectly. sectional is now securely together.

This is the second time I purchased these for a Crate and Barrel sectional sofa. Initially I only bought them for the section that wasn't up against a wall (kept sliding away even while seated on it!) but the improvement was so marked that I ordered another two for the remaining section. Two of these brackets per sectional piece might have been overkill, but considering the sections can slide side to side in addition to away from the center piece, I wanted to be sure. Install is easy - one part of our sofa had predrilled holes that lined up perfectly. The other piece I pre-drilled with a small wood bit and then drove the screws after with a hand drill. Then slide the two pieces together and give it a nudge with your knee and you will hear that satisfying "click" as they ratchet together. The fit is snug and it hasn't moved an inch since I installed them. Taking them apart you can either lift up the sectional piece with the "post" bracket (straight up and they will slide out of the ratchet component) - or if you can reach under your sofa, both grasping arms can be pulled back and away which will also disengage the clasp and let you slide the sofa pieces apart (might be a two person job if your sectional is big) I was worried because one of the pieces arrived with the rotating bracket covering the install holes - I was unable to move these by hands (even while gripping with pliers), but as another reviewer stated: once you install the two back screws, it is easy to rotate the bracket away from the remaining holes to install the last two screws. Summary: well built, solid mechanism, easy to install and works exactly as advertised. Never nudge your sofa back into place again or awkwardly "sink" into the gap between sectional pieces!
