Velbon QB-4W Quick Release Platform

The product did not fit my Lenmar Tripod. The Lenmar base is 42mm x 42mm. Some reviews said it was 40mm x 40mm. Once I received it (ON TIME and FAST!) it did not fit. The size for the Velbon QB-4W is 44mm x 44mm. Otherwise it is a solid product. Nice grip to keep it from slipping. The post next to the screw is spring loaded so it can fit deep to shallow holes. The bolt head is big and has grip so that it can be removed by fingertip or a coin with the wide slot. Luckily I found the original so I won't have to search for another!

I researched this quick release for a couple days before buying. I knew that it was about 1/8" to big. I read that others had modified it to fit.I decided to do the same and it worked very well. Took about 15 minutes with coarse sandpaper to get the size right. Now it fits really snug in the tripod base.If I were to do it again, I would try to maintain the bevel. I may eventually do this one that way. But it is really not necessary because it works fine as is.I am quite satisfied and would buy again if I needed another one.

I use it for my video camera - I love this quick release!!

I have a car window "tripod" head that clips onto a car window and provides tripod like stability when viewing with spotting scope or taking a photograph with a digital interchangeable lens camera. Somehow I lost/misplaced the original quick release plate. I needed a new one with a 41mm x 41mm base. I could not find any of that size, so I tried this one out which was 44 x 44 mm. Its base is made of plastic, so I was able to decrease its dimensions with a sand paper block, so that it adequately fits my device. Ideally, I would have a metal based platform that was 41 x 41 mm, but since I could not, this item functions as an adequate substitute.

I have come into the possession of several tri-pods all missing their quick release plates. UGH! In attempting to order replacements, I have found it a 'hit and miss' operation. The tri-pods are older versions and finding a replacement plate is becoming difficult. I have found that I try to find a plate when few sellers give measurements of the platform. They only include the model numbers that it fits. It would be easier if, in the product description, the seller would include the measurements/dimensions of the platform. I have a VELBON STRATUS 470 & the quick release platform measures 1 3/4 inches by 2 inches. From reading the description, it seems that the platform might work (Velbon QB-4W Quick release platform for the CX-470). This wasn't the case. The platform was too small. I will keep searching for what I need. I do not have a problem with the seller. The product came as described in a timely manner. I just had to guess if this one would work and I guessed wrong. I appreciated that the seller I worked with did not have a shipping fee. I do not foresee any problems returning this item and getting a platform that will actually fit my tri-pod. I rated it four stars because the product description didn't include the measurements.

Found a $200 tripod at a thrift shop for $8 that was missing the quick release connector. Bought this one after reading mixed reviews on third party cheap replacement options. Dropping a camera or spotting scope didn't seem worth the risk to save a few dollars. Very happy with the performance of this product.

I bought this item from Mel Pierce Camera (HIGHLY Recommended!) for a Ambico V-0542 Tripod I got for cheap. The head felt great, and some reviews said this fit it, so I took the chance.This plate does NOT fit the V-0542 Tripod head without some semi-serious sanding along the SIDES of the plate. The Ambico has straight sides along the Length of the pocket, where this plate has angled. Front-To-Back fit absolutely find, just the sides need some work.Take your time and it will drop right in. It took me about 20min with some medium grit sandpaper to get it right.Overall this is a solid piece of plastic that has a textured wheel to grab a hold of, along with a slot, to attache the camera.

Didn't turn up at first, but all credit to the seller, it was them who realised there might be an issue. Huge plus: is a genuine product from the manufacturer. Have been stung before by a non genuine part (not by this seller) that failed after a few weeks.

Avevo perso ogni speranza di rimpiazzare lo sgancio rapido del mio cavalletto Velbon! Invece con rapidità l'ho ricevuto. E' originale e perfettamente conforme alla descrizione! Posso riutilizzare il cavalletto ora senza problemi.
