A classic 1980s Comedy film starring Steve Martin, who is one of my favourite Comedy actors, it an interesting love story, more about lust than love to start with, but it develops, and of course his big nose causes a few problems along the way!! OK, this is the Steve Martin film that really sold me on his talents. Some of his earlier work is fine, The Jerk & the Man With Two Brains, but this was the Steve Martin film that I really took notice of.Nice letter box copy & just a simple enjoyable love story.But 2 terrific performances, Martin & Hannah are just fabulous.Also 1 of Martin's best segments in any of his films when he convinces some of the older town ladies that he was abducted by martians!watch & have fun, it's worth every penny.

Funny

Transplanting from old France to contemporary middle USA might seem difficult, but the film achieves this superbly. Steve Martin is outstanding as the nasally-challenged fire chief, and from the fight with the tennis louts, through the virtuoso display in the bar, to the hilarious scenes prompting his gormless fireman to woo the heroine, he is on top form. One of his best films.

Seen this movie several times but fancied seeing it again and Steve Martin is as good as ever. A nice , light hearted Sunday evening type movie with some very funny lines from Mr Martin. You won't be disappointed!

Love this movie. Funny, lighthearted and set in the most beautiful town. I used to watch this loads as a kid so suitable for children too.

what a fantastic film that is warm, extreamly funny and has me rolling up with true laughter an original that can never be remade.they dont make films like any more as i find the script writers have lost their way over the years.this is a most much must have film that needs to be seen.

Pour ma part j'adore ce film même si n'est pas un chef d'oeuvre (pas comparable à la version Depardieu qui ne m'a pas emballé.par ailleurs) Steve Martin très juste dans un rôle taillé à la mesure de son immense nez ! perso je suis sensible à l'humour qui se dégage de cette comédie romantique, certains passages sont irrésistibles, d'autres plein de délicatesse. Daryl hannah apporte sa touche de charme à Roxanne et ça fait Splash ! (pour ceux qui connaissent). Bref un film qui fait du bien que je suis heureux d'avoir pu trouvé en blu-ray. Puristes d' Edmond de Rostand s'abstenir...Je comprend que certains cinéphiles élitistes et anti-américains trouveront que ce film est une pure daube indigeste.mes choix eux sont plus éclectiques tous horizons genre le film ovni "Box Of Moonlight" qui pour moi est la par contre un chef d'oeuvre (voir les critiques sur le site)Roxanne est un film gentillet certes, mais chacun mes goûts après tout...
