Novel idea but not very functional. Doesn't save much time. You have to constantly wipe the red guard to keep paint from bleeding over. Take too much time.

Learn to us it properly and it will be worth it.
Love these rollers. Saves a ton of time on my first cut in. However these DO NOT cut as close as advertised on the website and I use them a lot. What I do is either cut in first with a brush and then finish out with these on second or cut in first quickly and finish coat with a brush to get next to trim. I have had some that would cut in closer than others. Another factor that determines how close they cut in is the angle of the trim. If you paint you know that all walls are not perfectly square or flat and that means that trim around doors and windows do not create a perfect 45 degree turn. This effects how close these will get. A perfect 45 would be ideal. As far as durability, I have cut in 2 houses with each roller before it gets so flat that it won't load enough paint to make it worth the effort. For the price even one house would be worth sacrificing a roller. I have also found that a shorter mini roller handle makes them more controllable and easier on the wrist, due to less flex. Also, as the website says, do not submerge in paint for the reload like a standard roller is very accurate. Just barely place the roller in the paint and then roll over screen to spread on roller, it will save you tons of time having not to wipe excess paint off end cap. Love these rollers even with their shortcomings. Use them on every job. Great design.

save you money and just buy the longer model, these are not manufactured to paint with.
short ones are not as good as the long ones, buy them and you will see the are junk, but I like the longer ones

Need some one on one
I would love to have some one on one time with the developer of this product. Every painter alive wants a simple answer to cutting in around window and door trim, and I had great hopes for this product, but it was not to be. The one on one time would be for him to show me what I'm doing wrong, if that was the cause of my disappointment with this.

Great Rollers!
These rollers are part of the FasTrim roller tool, they are absolutely great for cutting in edges. These are the smaller variation, useful for when you're in a tighter spot and need it to be just a few inches shorter. Understandably, I was skeptical at first about this but if you use it properly in the proper applications it can save you a bunch of time and save you a couple of brushes. One tip is to load less paint on the roller than you would standard rollers, this was a mistake I made the first time and made me think the system didn't work. New employees can pick this up and in a few minutes get the hang of it, it's been saving my painting company a lot of hours which = money.
