I got this soap as a sample in a beauty box I purchased and loved it so much I came here to buy. It is my favorite bar of soap. I have been struggling with acne for the past two years on my arms and have tried soooo many body washes , clay masks , etc to combat with minimal to no luck . As soon as I tried this soap I started noticing a significant difference in about a weeks time. It’s now been a month since I have been using this soap consistently every day after my workout and I would say my acne is about 70% gone. Clearest my skin has been in a long time. I imagine it will be back to clear if I keep using it ( I plan to). Some people have complained about the scent, I am normally sensitive to scents and this smells very natural. I actually love the scent and have started storing my soap bars in my clothes drawers until I need to use them. Great product, highly recommend for folks with acne to try ! I wish this was offered as a subscription.

Well I just have to say, since my son was born he has had very sensitive skin..and I could not use any baby soap available at the stores, he would break out terribly. I used California baby for a long time, regardless its a little costly..well worth it. But he's turning 3 now, and we seem to be going thru the bottles pretty quickly..so I came upon this soap while researching and 100% all natural ingredients..may not smell as great as california baby buy it's scent isn't bad..I use it on his body and hair. Works great, no breakouts, he still smells good. He's happy and I'm Happy. Plus a bar goes a long way..and you can not beat the price. Will buy in bulk next time. :) hope that helps..

To say this soap has a cedar scent is an overstatement. At most I'd say it has more of a plastic smell and that is why it drops one star in my review. However, the soap is a solid bar that works great and leaves your skin feeling clean and moisturized. It DOES NOT leave black residue on your shower/tub if you regularly clean your bathroom. The reviewer that posted that nasty picture of the residue obviously hadn't cleaned their tub in a while and you could see the black soap residue was sticking to the white soapy residue from previous soaps. I've been using this soap for nearly a month and have never experienced that. If they could just get the smell right this would be the perfect soap.

I first started buying Dr. Schmidt's after I moved away from home & wanted something a bit more natural & cleansing when it came to body soap as opposed to more common brands. My first choice was the the charcoal infused soap which I loved everything about despite its nature to leave behind black residue in the shower that can be easily cleaned. I then tried the red one,I believe it was cedarwood + Juniper. I didn't like the smell all too much but it got the job done. The charcoal one was still my favorite but I haven't been able to find a reasonable price for a six pack yet so I went with Bergamot + Lime as it was the cheapest & the one I haven't tried. I loved it after the first wash. The scent is great, it's incredibly moisturizing, it doesn't leave behind much or any residue compared to the others I've tried in the past. I think I'm sticking to Bergamot + Lime for the time being.

I am a bit of a weirdo when it comes to soap, and I recently decided to explore new soaps based on reviews. Got this in today(fast shipment) and used it this evening and very confused on what just happened. I’ll admit I am a scent forward person and this one was painful. I opened a new bar and was intrigued , as I began to lather the soap I immediately traveled back to my bass boat. It smells like a fresh pack of Yamamoto 3” black sankos! I felt like I jumped into the pack and was sealed shut between oils, salt, and rubber! Post shower I’m stuck smelling mostly Jupiter (not bad) and unsure what the next few days will bring. Great value, decent quality and not a horrible after smell. Just felt like a large mouth looking for a meal.

I’m on my first bar of this soap after using another brand for over a year. I figured I’d try something new just to switch things up while also looking for a slightly better value. These bars are dense and seem like they’ll last forever. The soap goes on and rinses off smooth with no waxy or slimy feeling. As an aesthetic bonus, I like the shape and color of the bar as well. It’s got that classic convex kind of shape and the black tone makes it cool to look at. I wouldn’t have minded a slight scent coming out of the box just to add to the artisan appeal. Overall, I’m satisfied so far.

Bought it for the scent, but the scent is so faint you have to shove the bar up your nose to catch a whiff. Does not lather well at all. Advertised as soap for body and face....do not use this bar on your face. The volcanic ash is quite sharp (duh right? Just sayin). It does function as soap...I am clean. But not so clean that Id purchase a 5 dollar bar of soap with no scent and no lather again.

I’ve literally tried everything for my sensitive skin. Especially, my face which reacts to everything no matter the price.This is the first time my face has cleared up and isn’t having little break-outs or reactions or getting period cystic pimples I’m oh about 25 yrs of struggle. I can’t believe this bar of soap with charcoal works. It’s so simple.It is black and yes you will suds up with some black and it might get on your sink and tile - but it doesn’t stain - it’s soap - it washes off.I tell everyone I finally found a miracle and it’s not 1,000 of dollars of painful.

The bar might be expensive but it's very large and lasts me at least two months. It smells amazing, might be my favourite scent of this brand.
