Vibrant colors and Works in my embroidery machine
These colors are nice and vibrant and shiny for my crafting. I love using them for my projects because they stand out so well. These have not frayed or jammed in my machine. These are beautiful and I will be buying again

Fabulous colors of metallic thread
This is some really nice thread! The colors are vibrant, the metallic gives it nice little flashes of almost sparkle depending on how the light hits the thread as the eye of the object moves. I followed the included instructions to use a specialized metallic thread needle and slowed my machine to 500 spm. Simthread included 2 long spool socks and 2 bobbins. Always a nice touch to get extras. I would suggest that they include 5 of those socks to be cut in half as this thread, due to it's metallic nature, does unravel from the spool more readily than regular thread. All in all I am very pleased. The metallic accents are even visible in my tiny design that is all of 1.75"x3" in total but the elements are are all smaller than a dime! And I had no breakage.

Beautiful colors, great price, difficult to use
I purchased both sets of this metallic thread. The price is cheap compared to some other brands. But the thread doesn't feed through my embroidery machine (Husqvarna Viking Epic 2) as well as other, more expensive metallic thread. I used this thread on embroidery designs called Boho Quilt from the Anita Goodesign website. Most of the embroidery was done with three different brands of rayon and polyester embroidery thread. Because using metallic thread can be challenging, the metallic thread was used to "highlight" the other embroidery work. I have used a high end metallic thread (only shown on the butterfly antenna) that didn't require much adjustment on my part. This thread on the other hand, needed a bit more assistance getting it to feed properly and not break. What seemed to help:1. Follow the recommended instructions provided with the spools.2. Lower the thread tension to about 20 percent used for regular thread. I use 40 or 50 tension for regular embroidery thread, 10 for this thread seemed to work best on my machine.3. Use a larger top stitch or metallic needle!!!4. Netting seemed to increase the tension on the thread, it broke more often. However, without the netting, I had to hand feed the thread, straighten it as it twisted off of the spool. Be careful not to pull on the thread going into the machine.5. Sprayed the thread spool with dry silicone spray every 300 to 500 stitches. Do this outside, NOT next to your sewing machine.6. Keep the stitching length down to about 500 or less stitches.7. Turn your machine speed as slow as it will go, that aleviated some of the issues. The pictures show the thread spools next to where they were used. It is a little difficult to tell in the pictures but the metallic thread has more of a shine than the other threads (polyester and rayon). Here is where the thread was used:Next to the pink flower, the purple metallic thread was used on the small veins eminating from the center of the flower. Around the center, the orange metallic thread was also used. The peach and orange colored flower has the orange thread in the center only. Although there were thousands of stitches and multiple layers, feeding the thread, using a metallic needle, and running the machine slowly, the thread only broke once.On the red fabric, the light blue/teal was used along the edge of the purple stripe. The thread broke at least eight times (I lost count) regardless of what I did.The red and pink flowers were highlighted with the red metallic thread. The flowers were two colors BEFORE adding the metallic highlights, lighter and darker with yellow/orange centers. The darker blue in the butterfly wings is the blue metallic thread. The silver antenna were sewn with another brand of silver metallic thread. The yellow flowers have dark rose metallic thread used in the small veins eminating from the center of the flower. The center is regular thread.Hope this helps you make your decision on whether to buy or not.

Great thread
This is my first foray into metallic thread and what is the first thing I do? I pick a design that is absolutely the worst for metallic thread (too dense). Not fun. Once I reviewed Simthread’s and the internet’s advice about using metallic thread and chose different projects I had a much better experience. The pictures do not do the projects justice. The projects are very shiny and sparkly and they were so much fun to embroider. I look forward to using this on many of my Christmas projects this year. I love Simthread.

I should have tried these sooner.
The media could not be loaded. This metallic thread is beautiful with an assortment of vibrant colors. It was So simple to use! and my babylock handled it well. I changed my needle to a size 14 before threading as suggested. The informational card that came with the order was all I needed to make the project a success.. I made my niece the gold metallic EmFreudery “hair thingy” she requested- plain yellow just wouldn’t do when your school color is gold. I think I will make myself one next. It will be perfect for an upcoming grad party! : )

Loved my first attempt with metallic thread!
The media could not be loaded. The Simthread Metallic 10 count was a great buy for a beautiful selection of colors. This was my first attempt using metallic thread, so I was careful to prepare ahead with some research on the topic. I used a Schmetz 80/12 “Metallic” needle & slowed my machine speed as suggested. Everything went quite smoothly. I experienced some breakage with the color red, but all other colors sewed beautifully without any problems. I look forward to using these metallic threads on my upcoming holiday projects!

Overall, a good, cost-effective metallic thread
All of the thread colors, with the exception of the navy blue, embroidered well with minimal breaks. The navy blue constantly broke, in spite of all my attempts (loosening tension, changing bobbin, changing needle, slowing down stich speed) to mitigate the problem. I may have just gotten an oddball spool as the thread on this spool appeared to be thinner than that on the other color spools, but caveat emptor. For the price of this kit, even with the problems with the navy blue thread, I will buy it again when I'm ready for a refill. I wish I could give five stars, but the problems with the navy blue are preventing me from doing so.

Great thread and gorgeous colours
The media could not be loaded. I've previously bought and successfully used Simthread threads for embroidery work so thought I would give it a go with the new Metallic Threads that have been added to their product line up.The first design, some lacy butterflies, didn't fare too well on the stitch out. There were small amounts of shredding and some breakages and, having followed the instruction leaflet (included in the box along with a couple of spare bobbins and some thread nets), I was both surprised and disappointed. However, decided to have another go making some minor adjustments along the way.Initially the machine was threaded in the normal manner so the first change was to use my off machine spool stand which showed better success but not enough for my liking. Not being one to give up easily I made several other minor alterations with some improvement along the way.Having altered the thread tension to 0.6 (yes, below 1) I started to think along other lines. Rather than using cotton fabric I changed to polycotton which has a more open weave - still not a good result. There had to be another cause that I was somehow missing. Decided to try again in the morning - fresh day, fresh thoughts.Morning arrived and in an effort not to be beaten, I changed two things, the design and the position of the spool holder. I don't know why, maybe it had come to me whilst I was dreaming. Hooray!! success was achieved. The uploaded photo's show the machine settings that work well on my Janome along with the successful design stitch out but more interesting is the video which shows the change made in the threading path. This was the key to getting it right.Apologies for the length of this review but to save anyone else experiencing frustration the end result is worth it. The metallic threads are fantastic and photo's really don't do them justice. I've bought threads from other suppliers in the past but have found that the quality, price and after sales service from Simthread are second to none. Let's hope it won't be long before additional colours are added to the selection.I am now running down my stock of threads from other suppliers and will happily use Simthread for all my embroidery threads in future. Check out the range on their Amazon store.

Beautiful sparkle and easy to use
I was wary of trying metallic thread after reading scare stories but these stitch out great. I followed the instructions inside the box to use a larger eyed needle and slowed down my machine and they behaved perfectly in the design I tried. The pictures dont do the sparkle in these colours justice they really catch the light. If I had to criticise in some way my only thing would be that the 2 paler blue shades are very similar but other than that the colours included are great. I would definitely recommend these and I'm no longer frightened of metallic thread 😁

Follow the instructions that come with the thread.
I only had one breakage of the red thread, but I am really thrilled with the way it sews. I would definitely recommend this product to other machine embroiderists.

Easy to use
The media could not be loaded. Received my box of coloured metallic thread, I already have the gold and silver ones. Have only used three of the colours the gold and darker blue stitched really well with no issues. The paler blue did break a couple of times but each time it was after about 2,500 stitches so no real problem. I was using them to stitch an FSL project so was quite dense.Overall happy with the results.
