BRIIIIIGHT!
BRIGHT! will be using chauvetDj company for lighting items from now on. At first I was underwhelmed at this product. But once it got warmed up on its sound setting, I was pretty satisfied. I'm sure connected to a DMX controller it'd be pretty sick. All in all though, thise quipment is pretty expensive for what you get. That being said, the QUALITY is Right on point.

The best bang for your buck
I have now too sets of these lights they are awesome it worked great the microphone is super sensitive. Best lights I ever had. I recommended them to all my friends. Wouldn't want it any other way. My neighbors complain sometimes when I use them because it lights up their house. Updates on my lights how many years need for 3 years now and never had a problem. The mic is very sensitive I mean really sensitive I can snap my finger and it makes a light change. I have another set of lights and it doesn't do that. Let me tell you best bang for your buck

Fabulous Light Except For One Missing Thing
What a great light, especially for a DJ just starting out who does not want to spend a lot of money at first. This light will get color out to the floor or pointed up at the ceiling at a perfect price. The sad part for me is that the light has no on/off switch. Come on! Would it have killed them to put in an on/off switch? Charge $5 or $10 more and build in a power a power switch.

Doesn't Get Better for the Money
I'm not a DJ or anything like that. Actually, I primarily enjoy classic/arena rock and wanted a light that would look just as good for rock music at a party as it would for club/dance music. While great without fog, fog is a must for this light to really shine. The sound sensitivity on this unit is superior to the others I have used (Vue 4.1 and LX5). The LX5 seems to want to respond to nearly every frequency, while the Vue 4.1 only responds to bass frequencies. The unique part about the Derby X is that when sensitivity is lower, it seems to only respond to bass frequencies....while when you increase sensitivity, it will respond to more midbass and midrange frequencies. Whether this is a design flaw or not, it works perfectly when you want the light to move to quicker music that doesn't necessarily have a quick bass rhythm. While the pattern/program does repeat every 30 seconds - it moves fast/seemingly random at times that you won't easily remember what it did 30 seconds ago.. and because it responds so well to music, depending on where you're at in the song - the series of patterns may look completely different each time through any given song. Also, no matter where you start the song in the pattern - this unit seems to have a mind of it's own and will create an effect that looks like was carefully planned when in fact all you did was plug the thing in and adjust the sensitivity so it responds the way you want it to. This is just one of several videos I made of this light in action: [...] The video speaks for itself and summarizes why all the reviews here on this light are so positive.

The mic didn’t work.
I was very disappointed that the mic didn’t work when I got it. I owned this light years ago when it first came out and loved it. The light came in one 24 May 2022, I set it up directly in front of my speakers, dip switches off, mic sensitivity hi AND NOTHING! The lights only change colors when I tap the unit. I sent it back the same day for a refund, not an exchange. Are these lights refurbished? I wanna give them another chance

There's no x but light balls all over
It's different then the video posted. Lead me to believe I could remove a filter for the x to just have lights on the wall. Instead I recieved the lights with ball lights all over the wall and floor. Intertesting.. it's good motion but not what I thought it would be for $100. I say to much

Great light, lots of bang for not a lot of bucks!
Ran this last night at an outdoor gig for 300 people. We are a 5 piece classic rock band, and I added it to the existing spots and effects we have (some Chauvet, one by Luz, etc.). This gave a great wide area of coverage and looked really cool, even when projecting out over the crowd! I may consider a second unit, but not sure if needed unless you are doing "big" rooms. Two would be optimal for that. I like to have additional effects (swirls, strobes, etc) and not just one. Great light - buy it and you won't be disappointed!

There's not much for me to say since you can find tons of demo videos on youtube to see it for yourself, but I can say it is an impressive unit for the price. Great light effect!
