Julian Assange: The Unauthorised Autobiography

With all the controversy surrounding the book even before publication, Mr Assange withdrawing his co-operation etc, I was curious to read the final product. Would it go the way of some biographies and sugar coat, or would there perhaps be a hint of bitterness at the actions of the subject in relation to the work? At times the piece did feel light in detail where I would have wanted to know more and the digging to have been deeper, but on the whole it was a very well written and enjoyable read. It kept my attention the whole way and was read in a rather quick sprint, the wider topics of government and corporate misdeeds as well as cyber security and the power of the internet nicely surround the story of a man who is either an agenda driven anarchist with a desire to destroy establishments, manipulating people to his own ends whilst showing a nihilistic regard to his actions, or a modern day martyr for the cause of truth who is fighting to remove the Orwellian cage that surrounds us masquerading as a freedom that is merely an illusion.

Julian Assange of Wikileaks fame, currently sheltering in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London has probably done more than anyone else to penetrate the murky secrets of the governments of the world, and hold them up in the clear light of day to be considered by the general public. Naturally, this has not been appreciated by the powers that be, and he is currently evading a not-very-skilful legal stitchup which is trying to get him extradited to Sweden, following which he will almost undoubtedly be extradited to the USA where anything could happen to him in their draconian penal system, and probably would. A compelling read for anyone who wants to know what is happening in the real world as opposed to the unreal construct delivered to us by the heavily controlled mass media.

Well written, engaging. Didactic. He explains difficult things very clearly, he is articulate. His story of his childhood and early youth is terrific.

I very much enjoyed reading this book and have no doubt in my mind that Julian has put his own life in jeopardy in order to expose the lies and corruption that all the world's governments are up to their necks in. This sort of corruption and lying to the people has been going on forever of course but once people started learning to read, they were able to discover bit by bit, the truth. The Internet has allowed the flood gates of knowledge to open and this was one of the things that "they" were scared of and "they" tried to suppress and control what we were allowed to read, think and do. Since organised religions started putting the fear of god (literally) into the uneducated peoples of the world, there have been individuals prepared to release them from their ignorance by shining a light into the darkness. Julian Assange and people like him are shining a light and deserve medals for putting themselves out there to bring us the truth. "They", of course, will not rest until they have arranged for untimely "accidents" for these saviours and anyone who has ever read any investigative journalism into the subject will know that these "accidents" happen all the time when "they" have been exposed for the lying ba**ards that they are! Good luck to Julian and people like him and please carry on keeping us informed of the things that we should know and are being kept from us. Remember that there are lot of us out there following you and believing in you and supporting you. Many of us have lost all faith in the world's leaders and lost hope for a world run by honest and trustworthy people. And we truly appreciate your wonderful efforts. Thanks.
