Party of Five - The Complete Series

I read reviews thoroughly and the packaging fits photos and reviews so I was prepared. Mine wasnt too beat up and all ok went thru them and made sure all there, have watched a few discs hoping they all work as well as the ones ive seen they look great to me sound fine too. (fyi ITS true no closed captions) They are one sided discs which is better for me and my player machine.I dont see any lip sync issue . Im happy with them and Im pretty picky so. Id recc'd going thru them compare episode list and disc numbers when you get them since some reviews state didnt rcve all discs. Mine appear to be here. I recc'd, great price for full series show, a show that would be unheard of these days as far as pg rating or g to some, with good acting and cast :) Mine came from washington blvd sales (merchant name) and were fine shipped on time too. We're more then halfway thru' and all great, what a great buy!

The general consensus here seems to be that, while it's nice to have the entire series available in one collection, the overall quality is a bit lackin - I'm inclined to agree.In terms of actual video quality, there is an attempt to fit a comparably large number of episodes on a single disc, and compression artifact downgrade definitely shows. It's by no means unwatchable, but it's not as crisp as the official FOX DVDs, or the TBS-archived syndicated format used on Hulu (which is probably the closest to off-the-reel quality available, if you're able to stream consistently well). The packaging is a bit on the flimsy side - as to say, paper-thin - and the biggest issue reported by buyers is of later discs out-and-out not working, even with replacement copies. Certain discs were not chaptered properly by the manufacturer, so occasionally, one has to 'cheat' to 'cheat' (so to speak) and utilize 'Play all' remote functions to bypass menus where the viewer may get stuck.Overall, not a bad effort, but not flawless. If you're a diehard or just someone who wants to watch the full series without having to worry about Hulublosing streaming rights, it's much more affordable than buying all of the official DVDs separately, and it's still of viewable quality. However, it is also missing all of the special features of the official DVDs, as well as the clip show episode 'Family Album', which is available on both Hulu and FOX DVD. But for the barebones, meat-and-potatoes, 'just the nitty gritty' of it, this is much more affordable.

Party of Five is an excellent series with a lot of heart. However, it deserves a much better box set than this.The video quality is decent, but the image is not very sharp and it could use a remaster.The first disc or so have captions, but the remainder do not.Only 1 disc has bonus content, which is a short documentary/behind-the-scenes look at the show.There are instances where the video "glitches." For example, one episode had some frames of green pop up, so whoever put this together made a mistake while editing or exporting.Hopefully this series will get a good Blu-Ray re-release with bonus content, captions, and overall better quality.

I watched POF back in the day. I didn't watch all of it however. I bought this Millcreek full series version some time ago and just started to re-watch. I watched most of Season 1. The video quality is somewhat watchable to poor on my 55" TV. Looks like VHS quality transferred onto DVD. The packaging shouldn't be any surprise unless you never bought a Millcreek TV series DVD set before. I decided to check and see if Amazon had the Sony original DVD seasons still. They do. I purchased those over time (Seasons 1-3 are inexpensive and S3 is remastered). I also bought S4-6, Sony MOD and those are remastered. Yes, I spent a lot on this one show. Again, underrated but addictive story line of these five orphaned children and making life work in SF in the late 90's. Most storylines are still in line with issues today. Great coming of age series. MC box set is 24 discs. The 6 separate seasons all have five discs (total of 30 discs) so far less compression/far better viewing quality. Great show any way you decide to watch it!

I purchased seasons 1-3 individually years back, like many years back and waited for 4-6 to be released for several years , signed online petitions for release and nothing came of it so i gave up looking. I loved this show so much during my youth years and just couldn't wait to watch it all again. Imagine my surprise when i just found out this past Sunday the full series was released this past January. Thanks amazon for getting it to me today. While im stoked to have all seasons finally and at a good price, i am disappointed in quality. I feel a series as good as this deserves a little more extras and better packaging, and id be ok paying more for it. Discs come in paper sleeves, gonna get scratched, and none of the original into music was edited in. That song helped make the show, not sure who at Mill Creek made the decision to exclude it but it was a horrible decision. Ill obviously deal with the flaws cuz im so excited to have the series but ill think twice about buying another series set produced by Mill Creek.

I loved this show back when it aired years ago. I got this set partly to let my daughter watch it because I knew she would enjoy it.(but also so I could indulge in rewatching the series) We’re enjoying watching it together. Great set and great value!

I had always loved this show when it was on TV. So when I saw it was available of course I had to have it. I have not watch every episode yet, but so far all is well. The packaging leaves a lot to be desired. The unique encasement is very flimsy light poster board material. While I do like the fact that they appear to be attempting the eco friendly route... this outer package makes the whole package very fragile. Because it requires extra caution with handling I'll probably figure out something else for the discs to be in later. The inside packages that the discs are in are interesting, much better stability. However, it did make it here just fine. So I'll deal with it for now. Still... overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

I have liked the show since I first saw it and was happy when I was finally able to get the boxset but was disappointed with it as it didn't play the discs are regional coded but it doesn't say that in the description when purchasing it. I'm happy that I was able to send it back and get a refund so even though I'm disappointed that it wouldn't work I'm also happy that it got dealt with.

Llegó al otro día que la pedí. Si trae subs, en inglés, pero tienes que buscar la opción en el reproductor, no en el disco. Llevaba AÑOS buscando esta serie. Siempre la vi por pedazos y nunca la terminé de ver. Estoy súper contenta porque la calidad es buenísima y es exactamente cómo o recuerdo.

Sehr gute Familienserie, auch wenn vielleicht die erste Staffel etwas zäh ist, spätestens aber der zweiten ist man voll im Po5 Fieber.Was ich allerdings noch wichtig finde, es fehlt komplett der Hinweis, dass es sich um eine Regional Code 1 DVD handelt, die auf den meisten Europäischen DVD Playern gar nicht abspielbar ist.Das die deutsche Tonspur fehlt und der Artikel von mir gekaufte Artikel schon erhebliche Gebrauchsspuren an der Box aufweist, stört mich jetzt weniger.Wichtig ihr braucht einen Codefrei bzw Multiregion DVD Player zum abspielen! Ein normaler in Europa gekaufter DVD Player erkennt die DVDs gar nicht erst.Aufgrund der mangelnden Beschreibung diesbezüglich 2 Sterne Abzug.

Excelente servicio de Amazon, en cuanto a la entrega, buen servicio espero continúen así para tener una buena continuidad, sobre el producto difícil de conseguir en tiendas comerciales, que lamentable que no tenga ningún subtítulo en ningún idioma , pero es una garantía yo en lo particular nunca la vi, pero recibí buenos comentarios de la historia y ha sido premiada.

The delivery estimate was correct and all arrived perfectly packaged but unfortunately these DVDs did not work on any of my devices! Was really looking forward to these but left very disappointed. No mention of them being copied but they did not look like originals. Have returned and am bereft. 😭
