Answered prayer!
A friend recommended the Woombie to me after I was describing my 3.5 month escape artist daughter who could get out of anything. We had been using the velcro swaddles and they worked pretty well for the first month. However, as she got stronger, more wiggly and more determined to keep her hands clasped or at her face, she could maneuver her arms and sometimes legs out within minutes. The velcro also got worn down with washing. It became almost a family joke to where we have an album of pictures of all the different ways she got out of the swaddle. Sometimes I would swaddle her and she would look up at me with this grin that said "go ahead and try, I'll be busting out of here before you leave the room." Of course, its not so amusing in the middle of the night when we didn't need another reason to be getting up. Even when she wanted to sleep, she would wake herself up flailing her arms frequently as long as her arms were free, and therefore I was waking up knowing she wouldn't sleep unless I reswaddled her or because I was afraid she was cold. My husband tried to do it tighter and the grandparents didn't stand a chance of containing her. I ordered the Houdini Woombie the day it was recommended and paid for two day shipping in a desperate attempt for more sleep. My daughter usually cried hard for 25 minutes at bedtime before falling asleep. The first night we tried the Woombie, she cried for 2 minutes, then fell asleep, and that has continued to be the case. She loves it because it is tight and comforting, but stretches enough so that she can bend her arms how she wants and clasp her hands or keep them by her face. Even when she lies awake for awhile before sleeping, she isn't crying because she plays with her hands until she drifts off. Now we only get up at night to feed since I know she is contained and warm enough. I wish I had known about this sooner. Yes, it is expensive, but after months of little sleep, it has been well worth it and it is fool-proof to use. If your baby isn't as active or picky about sleeping positions, you would probably be ok with a regular swaddle, though I still love the ease of use by anyone with the Woombie. I will be giving this as a gift to all my expectant friends!

Too tight
Great concept but doesn't quite work. Both of our daughters liked being swaddled tight to sleep, so when they got to be too big to wrap up and keep from wriggling out of the receiving blankets, we thought this would be perfect...not really. It's so tight around the neck, it scared me to zip it all the way. The material is elastic enough in the body that it won't keep their hands down so little fingers kept getting tangled up near the neck trying to "escape" all the time. We used it a few times but ultimately just wound up buying a bigger receiving/swaddle blanket instead.

Mom loves, baby hates
I ordered several different swaddles for my very big/strong baby (since she had outgrown her small size SwaddleMe). As a mom, I loved the Woombie the best! The material is soft and stretchy, it's SO easy to put on them, and if I was going to be put in a swaddle, this would be the one for me. But alas, it wasn't actually for me, and baby didn't agree. The fact that she could move her arms up but couldn't get them out was more than she could handle, so she fussed and fought this thing and grunted all night long. Bye bye Woombie.

Sleep-deprived parents LIFESAVER!
We have a very active baby who startles to wake very often and easily. She loves to be swaddled, but her arms flew out of even the tightest blanket swaddle. Before we found the Woombie Houdini, she would sleep for 2-3 hours at a time, startling herself awake after breaking free of her blanket swaddle. After we found this amazing product, baby sleeps for 6-7 hour stretches! She only wakes when she's hungry or wet.Another pro: baby HATED nighttime diaper changes. We had to take her out of her warm swaddle blanket, and out of her jammies, which left her cold and super angry. The Woombie has a zipper that can be undone from the bottom. This is perfect, because it allows us to only take her bottom half out of the swaddle to change her diaper. She practically sleeps through even poopy diaper changes now!!NOTE: I bought a "big baby" (14-19lb) size when my baby was 12lbs and had NO issues with size. In fact, I'm glad I did, because I won't need to buy the next size up for awhile! I also never had any issues with the neck hole being too small like a previous reviewer stated.

... is 3 months old and has always slept much better when swaddled
My baby girl is 3 months old and has always slept much better when swaddled. If she isn't swaddled she only falls asleep a few minutes before she moves her arms and wakes herself up. I was using the Halo sleep sacks for a while but she managed to always somehow get her hands out or at least half way out, especially as she grew a little bigger. She also would squirm around a lot while I was trying to swaddle her so that made it harder to get a nice tight swaddle. With the Woombie I don't have either of those problems anymore. Its very easy to use and to put her in and she can move her hands around like she likes too because of the stretchy material (she likes to sleep with her hands by her chest). But it's still firm enough that she can't get her hands the out of the top of the blanket. I wish I knew about The Woombie from the beginning. I definitely would recommend this product!!!

I liked the small baby woombie so when my little one other it I got this one. I do not like this one as well. The main things I don't like are: 1) It has ribbing all around the side edges so if baby wiggles it askew it is laying on a hard line. 2) The zipper thing at the top that keeps the zipper off baby's neck snaps secure rather than velcros. Just irritating to do as the woombie is tight and you don't want to push a hard plastic snap down hard enough to snap it on your baby.

Baby sleeps well in this. It is quite tight around her arms. It is very long, which works as so is our baby. She is 4 months.

Great swaddle
We loved the ease of getting our baby into the Houdini. The fit was snug even when she was 12 lbs and she seemed to calm down and sleep well in it.
