Cycling Shoes for the Biker / Outdoorsman!
I am a serious cyclist (just completed a 1,500 self-supported bike tour), outdoorsman and photographer. These biking shoes have nailed it for me! Not only are these shoes comfortable to wear all day, but work well when I am off the bike. Just yesterday I was cycling along the North Shore of Lake Superior when I spied some unusual looking birds. I popped off my bike, grabbed my camera gear out of my pannier and confirmed I was looking a "Long-Tailed Ducks" through the early morning mist out on Lake Superior. Wearing these biking shoes, I climbed down a 30 foot steep embankment to the actual shore which allowed me to get closer for my desired photograph (note: Long-Tailed Ducks should be up in the northern reaches of Hudson's Bay at this time of year, not on Lake Superior). Finally, I use mouse traps / toe cages on my pedals. These shoes fit well, and don't slide out. They stay put once I get them inserted into the cage and thus I get my proper torque. In summary, if you are looking for a shoe that works well with a bicycle, and also off the bike ... the Five Ten's are great. If want to see some of my photos often taken while cycling visit my birding / photography web site ... 365DaysOfBirds.

One of the best pair of MTB shoes I've owned.
I have had these shoes for just over a year and around 500 + hrs of mountain biking . I highly recommend and enjoyed riding in these shoes. They are excellent and finally wore out last week. The sole wore through due to the pedal pins set to full on fangs on my flat pedals. If I didn't use aggressive flats these would still be going strong! The shoe does not have a fully gusseted tongue (? correct term) so water can seep into the shoe from a deeper water crossing but is rarely a problem when your riding trails have been in drought for last two months. Although incidental splashes are no problem but you may need to treat with DWR spray. In the last year, this was the only piece of clothing that did not tear or fail outside one jersey that never impacted the Earth (which is rare because I crash....a lot). These are excellent shoes.

Sticky soles, not waterproof
I use these for mountain biking with flat pedals. The grip is amazing. The soles have so much bite. The 5-10 soles are as sticky as they come. I have another brand of shoes that licensed these soles for river portaging over wet rocks so you will have the confidence to walk slippery rock gardens. I would say the weatherproof nature of the shoe is overstating things. My socks are always drenched after running through the smallest creek.

Good Shoe but...
I bought these 4 years ago and have worn them a lot. I have had several pairs of 5 10 and really like them. These are quality shoes and performed well until recently. I notice them slipping a few months ago and had a close call when one foot slipped of the pedal on a descent. Luckily, when the pedal whipped around it hit the strap on the back of my shin guard. It happened again last week and I wasn't so lucky. The spikes on the pedal tore a gruesome gash my calf. When I examined the shoes later, I found that the rubber soles had hardened into what felt like a slick plastic. This is disappointing. The other thing I wondered about these was why there was no lace cover. 5 10 used to put a velcro lace cover on their shoes but these are open. Plan on replacing laces on a regular basis.

Perfect for riding and everyday use
I originally bought these shoes to use for riding flat pedals on my mountain bike. Sizing was an issue of concern, since I had to convert the male sizes to female sizes. Once I received the shoes, they fit so well and are so comfortable, that I am wearing them out every day. As far as wearing them to ride, these shoes are fantastic. The rubber sticks to the flat pedals so well, it is almost like riding clip less. You have to want to reposition your foot. Would highly recommend!

Handsome well-made traction shoes
While 5/10 shoes are not the most well-known brand in commercial & fashion circles, people involved in specific sports like freerunning and parkeur, hiking and climbing have known about Five-Ten super-sticky-soled shoes for years. I wore out my first pair and just got two more. I wear a 10.5 and these are just the right size. Although they are called bike shoes, the soles are flexible enough and they make good walking and general wear shoes for me. The unique blue color on these is striking and sexy without being loud and has already earned compliments when out in public. Classy and upscale and still great with jeans, I switch off between these and Merrell shoes most of the time. Delighted I have this blue pair.

good mtb shoe
First pair of mtb shoes, love them. The fit is great and they do stick to the pedals extremely well. I was using gym shoes before these and the pedals ripped up the soles of the shoes. I see no marks or anything on these shoes. Wore them around a few days and they are stiff and feel heavy duty. Got out biking today and i am glad i purchased these. They feel comfortable and no more slipping off the pedals.

... of all I'm going to say this is the best "accessory" purchase I've made
First of all I'm going to say this is the best "accessory" purchase I've made. Perfect for riding flat pedals. The ONLY reason I gave four stars is because I'm pissed! I bought what looked like orange in the picture, but when they came they were clearly red. I shopped again and found some listed (Color: Dark Grey/Orange). So I ordered another pair and gifted my red ones to a friend. When the new ones came they were/are RED. Not even close to orange. It may seem minor, but I don't do red.

Just took these trainers for a spin around the valley's.
The only part of me that gets cold when I'm mountain biking is my feet. So I decided to give these a go. The first thing you will notice is when your place them on the pedal....they do not move around all...it took my some getting used to but I think I had just got lazy with my foot placement because my previous trainers moved around so much. As for being waterproof...yes they are. It doesn't help when riding through a stream as your feet are going to get wet whatever you wear, but these trainers still keep your feet toasty and warm! If you are thinking of getting some I definitely recommend them....10 out of 10 to the Five Ten people!

No more pedal slip. . . .
These are excellent MTB shoes, I've ridden clipped in since my foot slipped from the pedal, resulting in a painful injury that required 22 stiches. But there are times when you want to shift the position of your foot ( not an option when clipped in) So how pleased was I with the outstanging pedal grip provided by these shoes. No pedal slip, and freedom of movement when required, doen't get much better than that combo. Thoroughly recommended

Fast perfekt

Comfy and sticky
Fast delivery. These sneaks are seriously comfortable and seriously sticky. Think no more about buying a set of fivetens. They will improve your mtb'ing from novice to expert as soon as your feet slide in, maybe.
