I’ve used a menstrual cup for years but had no clue that menstrual cup cleaning devices existed, I’ve been boiling in a saucepan every month and now I feel like a dinosaur. Fortunately I now have an Emanui cup cleaner!I really liked how discreet and simple the cleaner is to use. The microwave is so much more convenient and super quick. At home, fill the cleaner with water to manually wash the cup as a first step. I still take it out and do a final inspection and wash under the tap to make sure it’s properly clean. Then pop it back in, add water and into the microwave for 3 minutes. Leave to cool and it’s ready to go.On the go, I usually just empty the cup when needed and put it back, but that’s really only ok for a single day or evening out. When away from home I used to revert to tampons because I couldn’t clean the cup properly, but this is much better, as long as you have access to a microwave. It’s also good to at least give the cup a rinse in quite a discreet way if you don’t have access to a sink next to a toilet, like in a cubicle. But it’s not great if you are in a hotel with no microwave access.The cleaner is very well thought out, the dip in the top that allows you to apply a bit of pressure inside the cup when cleaning is a clever touch, and the base made from solid plastic makes this feel very safe to use - great for younger girls in particular. I’ve seen others that are made entirely of silicone that wouldn’t be as secure when handling after using. It’s really easy to put into your bag to carry around with no leaks. My only criticism is that I have cut the stem of my cups quite short which makes it a little trickier to use.This cup cleaner feels it will last forever, but even so it’s a high price tag. If you are dedicated to your menstrual cup this is probably worth the investment. I’m excited to see what’s next from this brand! I would love to see an attachment for this that heats up the water without the need for a microwave at all - it would make it much more useful in different situations and truly unique.

I’’ve used a menstrual cup for quite a few years now and whilst it’s a great option it’s always been tricky when away from home or using public toilets. This device makes it possible to clean your cup even when you don’t have a sink in the toilet with you.Essentially, you fill the device up with water at a handy sink or using a water bottle, screw the lid on and take it into the toilet with you. You then empty your cup and screw the holder around the cup base and fix it into the device. They you swoosh it around, shake it up and down and then pour the dirty water out the spout into the toilet. This leaves you with a clean cup to use. The device can be sealed until you can get somewhere to clean it properly.The video in the product photos section really explains it better than I can. The device can also be used as a steriliser in the microwave.This thing is so well designed, they seem to have thought of everything, down to having a loop so you can hang it on the back of the door until you need it! It is an expensive item, but it’s really well designed and made. All the surfaces are smooth to make it easier to clean and it all comes apart really easily for the same reason. All the materials are really sturdy and pleasant to use. It’s obviously had a lot of research and design work done on it.It’s not the smallest of items so it’s no good for a tiny clutch purse, but a medium sized handbag should be ok to carry it. Personally I think it would come into it’s own when camping or at festivals. It would be great if you are on a long journey of any kind, or simply staying away from home.This is an invention that many women have been waiting a long time for, without even knowing they needed it. This makes the switch over to using menstrual cups so much easier for a lot of women. I’m really impressed with it.

I have been using the menstrual cup for years. I never went back to using sanitary pads. I think it's a brilliant invention.Now, what was missing was something to clean it effectively. I have tried cup soaps in the past, very good but expensive.This microwave sterilizer is very good. It is expensive but at least it doesn't run out like soaps. Hopefully, it will last a long time.It is made of silicone, suitable for microwaves but also to be used under the sink. You put water inside and shake it until the cup is clean. Here, I would stop and reflect at this point. Before having this sterilizer, I rinsed it under running water, made sure it was clean, and put the cup back in place. Paying £60 for this seems exaggerated to me. Instead, I find it useful if you want to make more effective hygiene in the microwave. So it's worth it, depending on the use you will make of it. The other thing is, where you are out and about most of the time you cannot find a microwave and if you are at one of your friend's houses you are not asking for a microwave to sterilize your cup, at least I would not. So in this case it is not very practical. Overall, for me this sterilizer is not essential, I would easily do without it. This is why since I have ordered it I have only used it once.It is quite small so it should easily fit into any female bag :)
