Its perfect for valve and cam covers, timing chain covers, water pumps, carb assembly. when you want one side to stick so you can take it apart without a chisel and a lot of grief, this is the stuff you use. When it says it stays flexible, that's what they mean. The average shade tree mechanic can put this in a box for later, come back in five years and its good as new. Skip all the silicone stuff that goes solid in the tube in a few months. There's probably plenty of household uses I hadn't even considered. I'm going to go looking at all those drippy angle stops and such.
Review: This is GOOD Stuff - PERIOD - I have used gallons and gallons of this stuff over the years; I would not be without it. I was using it way back when it was Mr. Gasket. I never do any tedious gasket scraping; that went out with Model T Fords. I pull the two parts apart and try my best to keep the gasket intact; but, I don't lose sleep over it if the gasket separates, tears, breaks, or leaves a lot of itself on both surfaces. I just slather on a generous coating of this stuff and put things back together with whatever old gasket was on there to begin with. I have never had a leak. If I am dealing with new clean stuff with new gaskets, I slather both sides of the new gasket with this stuff; and, years later, when I take the thing apart, the gasket comes loose clean and in perfect reusable condition --- not all cooked on and stuck.

**Q: After application, will removing a paper gasket from the intake manifold cause it to tear or will it have to be scraped off?**
A: You will need to scrap

**Q: will it take place of o ring?**
A: My opinion only here...it will take the place of a gasket..An o ring......I would not recommend...

**Q: Is this a good choice for the water pump gasket (stamped metal) on a Kubota tractor?**
A: I have used this on pumps before with out any problems, both water and mineral oil based fluids. My first choice for your application would be an RTV compound. Hope this helps.

**Q: I have a leak and need to remove the oil pan. I only apply the seal to the oil pan and not on the oil pan frame on the car before the gasket install?**
A: I have used Yamabond 4 to seal the two halves of the engine block without any other gasket. . I guess I would use it for this oil pan too. With a gasket I would also use this. I think permatex has something simular.
