For a regular one healthy cat household, plastic is probably just fine. It's what we used for years and years. But a couple of years ago, our little old lady cat, the one we have nicknamed after Dame Maggie Smith because she just keeps on kicking, was diagnosed with diabetes. She drinks like a fish (we keep her away from the booze), so she pees and pees and pees before peeing some more. The subsequent lakes in the litterbox require good quality litter, this we've learned, but that plastic scoop broke to bits pretty early on. This thick metal one makes the job of transferring sludgy pee-soaked clumps of litter to the trash can much easier.

Makes scooping poop easy. Gets everything and nothing is left stuck on the bottom. Very happy with purchase now I can now throw my plastic one that bends away.

It has a shorter handle but the scoop is much larger & allows cleaning litter box to be quicker. Love it.

Some things stick

I love this litter scoop!!! It is sturdy and doesn’t bend when you are scraping the bottom of the box! Would buy again but hopefully it’s sturdy enough I won’t need too

It is very sturdy and the grip is comfortable but it almost too wide. A four inch width would probably be better.

Nobody likes scooping a litterbox. It's not fun and can be time consuming because of the scoop. Enter this scoop. Why did I not know that such a good scoop existed. It makes scooping the litter boxes so much easier as you can take huge scoops or shovel fulls all at once without worrying about the scoop breaking. It easily gets into corners and right down to the bottom of the box without issue. I have boxes of clumping litter and pellets and this works best with the clumping litter as the pellets don't fit thru the holes very well.

I HATE kitty litter. I mean HATE it. This scoop allows me to get in and get out so quick!! It’s sturdy for even the heaviest pees and gets down to the bottom where I can scrape up any that has made it to the bottom. No more flimsy dollar store scoops in my house!!

The scoop arrived well in advance of date promised. It is larger than anticipated but very sturdy and cleans the Litter box very easily.

Very solid. Better than platic wich breaks so easyly.
