Big Boy Metal Body Filler

I used this for a small automotive repair, and it worked perfectly. It mixes easily, spreads smoothly, and has a great working time before it starts to set. Once dry, it sands down to a very fine finish. It's a high-quality product that makes DIY repairs look professional.

Used Silverhook Big Boy Metal Filler on my VW campervan, and it handled the job like a champ. Thick, easy to apply, and once it sets, it’s rock hard, exactly what you need for proper, lasting repairs. Sands down smooth and takes paint like a dream. For big jobs on metal panels, this filler is my go-to. Reliable, tough, and does what it says.

This is a great product, does exactly what it says on the tin, fills, sands to a smooth finish and easy to use and mix, except, the instructions suggest mixing half the of hardener, which comes in a small squeezing tube with half the filler in the tin, problem is there is no way to measure with any accuracy half of either. So having prepared the surfaces to be filled I duly measured out what I considered half and half in a separate container and started filling, I worked quickly, however within five minutes it had set hard making the still to be used filler unusable. Being more careful with the other half mixing smaller quantities I managed to finish the work. It would be great if the manufacturer could provide some better means of measuring out

This filler is the real deal. I used this alloy filler to repair a sizable chunk that had come off my BMW alloy. This was due to a repair shop hitting one of the spokes with a hammer when attempting to take a bolt off and then decided to use a wire brush to clean it and then spray paint it with a standard grey spray, so I thought I'd be better attempting the fix myself than leaving it with him. I couldn’t be more satisfied with this product. It applied smoothly, adhered well, and filled the area with ease. The consistency was just right, making the application process straightforward and stress-free. Once set, it sanded down cleanly and blended perfectly. This product worked exactly as expected—no surprises, just solid performance. Be sure to use plenty of masking tape when applying. £7 for a large 250ml sized tub is a bargain! Highly recommend. Having invested in a builders’ wheelbarrow many years ago, not many of the modern versions reach the solidity and build quality of my original. However, it has had many years of tough work - building and gardening - so I decided to reinforce all the joints and welds. This product, which is the typical base filler and hardener mix, has good reviews. These products are always “tricky” to apply, e.g. too much hardener on a hot day, it will go off very quickly, so read the instructions on setting times and temperatures. So far, so good, “antique” but solid wheelbarrow looking all set for a few more years in the garden after a low cost refurbishment. All reviews of modern wheelbarrows denting easily and handles bending are a thing of the past. Like many of these products, it has a strong smell, so apply in a well ventilated space; ensure the metal to which is being applied is dry and give it a good wire brushing and dust before application.
