A great choice since Polar no longer offers a replacement option
The first thing I noticed was that the medium band is pretty small. I have a petite wrist and the medium is tight unless I use the 2nd or 3rd hole, which is constricts movement somewhat. However, the worst part about this band is that after having it on for only 3 days (and used it twice for about an hour each time), the pin holding the buckle fell out and all the pieces scattered everywhere. I'm thankful nothing fell down the shower drain and I hope I have all the pieces so I can return it.Update: The seller contacted me and offered to send me a replacement band which I received a few days ago. So far I haven't had any issues with the new one. I sized up because I felt like the medium was too constrictive, so unless you have the wrist of a 10-year-old, I'd recommend getting the large.

Way Shorter Than Polar band
I looked for hours on Amazon. Most replacement bands were the same size, the size of this. If you take the both sides of this band and put them aside the Polar factory ones I had to replace, they're over an inch shorter. They barely fit my wrist and I do not have large wrists. My factory band that came with the watch, the side that has holes is tearing through. Luckily the other side is holding up more. If I had to replace both sides I wouldn't be able to wear it as it would be too short.I had to do a little finagling to get the pins and holes to line up, but it wasn't too bad. I'm just very disappointed that no one makes replacement bands the size of the ones that came on my watch in the first place. I wish Polar would sell stock replacement bands. Due to the fit of this replacement, i'm likely going to have to just get a whole new fitness tracker because my old band is torn through and falling apart, and I can't find one the right size. I'm just using this in the mean time hoping it will work because I am not looking forward to dropping another $150 just because I can't find a replacement band the size of the one it came with.FYI as well, I really like the Polar M400 device, but i'd debate on another brand next time for the sheer fact something as simple as a torn band causes you to have to buy a new device since Polar won't sell replacements (that I can find) and the ones you can find on here are too short and don't work.

Easy to install
I was concerned ordering this product as my handyman skills are less than average and thought I might have difficulty installing the straps. Just finished installing it and it literally took a couple of minutes without any difficulties. I did to the follow:1. I watched a video on Utube showing an installation.2. When I used the plunger to disconnect the old strap tried to get a feel of the friction force.3. After disconnecting the old straps give the watch a quick swipe down to clear the area of any debris that may block the installation of the new pin4. Pushing together the new strap to the watch and slowly push the new pin in with the disc of the plunger. 5. Fell the initial resistance so if there is a blockage you won't force the pin and deform it.I purchased the longer strap and although it is shorter than the original I am on the 4th hole from the last one (make 6 ft 210lbs).The feel is softer and makes the watch look new again. Since I am writing this review right after installing I can not comment on how rugged it is but if it breaks soon I will update. Right now I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to order another one next time I order from Amazon.

*Fantastic* company, don't hesitate to buy from them. Follow instructions from youtube carefully, do when you're well rested
Maybe it was just me or my watch, but the install was more challenging than I expected. I tried to do it quickly when I was exhausted and managed to stab myself with the pin. I bent the pins trying to force them into position. Should be done when one is well-rested. Yours may go right in. Mine I think had a piece of plastic from the mold or perhaps a broken piece from the broken band in the way. Use the push pin liberally to clean and forge a path before grabbing a pin. Watch their youtube video. I reached out to the company and they were very quick to offer help, replacements as needed, and even a refund. The band fits well. It is a bit softer and stickier than the original portion. I give the band itself 4 and the company a 10.

Replacement works, but difficult to install. Patience necessary.
The product did not come with any instructions, but it is pretty self-intuitive. My problem came when trying to install the new pins to connect the replacement straps with the watch face. The pins would constantly get stuck partway into the watch and would run a risk of bending/breaking if I exerted too much force to try and get them in. Further, the plastic installer did not help with getting the pins into the watch because the pin itself would puncture the plastic portion of the tool. I almost stabbed my thumb at one point. You will likely need pliers and some other sort of metal tool to safely press in the pins. You will also need to prep the watch strap by inserting and withdrawing the pin into the strap itself multiple times to create slightly wider holes within the plastic strap itself. That way it will be easier to connect the replacement to the watch face using the replacement pins. All in all, it took me about 30-40 minutes to install. It was annoying. But it works, and it was better than buying a new watch.

Easy to Install
I found this was pretty eaasy to install (if you need help, search “install Polar M400 band” on Google - iFixit has a good photo guide). I’ve had my M400 for a couple of years and I wear it all day. My single irriation with it was always that the band was a little too short for my big wrists. This watch band is longer so it allows the watch to move a little more. This band is definitely different material than the original watch band (which I kept in case I want to put it back on). It’s more like the newer polar bands (soft rubber feel). It seems pretty sturdy to me. I’m going to “wear it in” and see how things go. If things go awry, I’ll update my rating and review.

Poor quality - DO NOT PURCHASE
The moulding fabrication of the strap at the base is very thin. The strap tore/fell apart after a few months. The strap never fully sat correctly on the watch piece. EXTREMELY disappointed.

Better than the original
Really happy with this purchase. It's given my M400 a new lease of life and is more comfortable and fits better than the original.
