Since its foundation in 1930, CITIZEN has promoted a multi-cultural mindset that fosters excellence and creativity. The very name of the brand conveys a deep respect toward craftsmanship and considered as familiar by citizens the world-over. So as a “citizen” of the world, we bear the responsibility to help cultivate a culture of positive change and on-going evolution through our craft. We take that mission seriously and steadfastly welcome what the future may bring. As a true manufacture d’horlogerie, CITIZEN integrates a comprehensive manufacturing process from creating individual components to a watch’s final assembly. It’s an artisan’s approach to watch making based on pushing forward the boundaries of technology and leveraging our experience toward exploring new possibilities. One pivotal technological breakthrough was the development of a light-driven watch. CITIZEN pioneered this engineering innovation well ahead of other watch manufacturers as early as 1976, which led to the launch of the highly acclaimed Eco-Drive in 1995. Utilizing electrical power converted from virtually any light source, this extraordinary innovation changed forever the way watches could be powered. Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable. This leveled the field for citizens of virtually every country to be able to experience unrestricted joy of wearing and using a CITIZEN watch. The product development policy, “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty,” remains a constant motivation for us to merge cutting-edge technology with perfection of design beauty, which as a consequence inspires people to strive to be their best at any time. CITIZEN launches a new campaign in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy, Better Starts Now. This is the simple belief that no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to make something better — and now is the time to start doing it. We believe that better and now are both infinite, and that there is always a next ‘better’ and a new ‘now’ in which you can start pursuing it. It was clear from the onset of this project that we are dedicated to this ideal…not to the past but to the present, and all the way we can improve it. To help communicate this belief to the world we have created a new global CITIZEN brand movie, brand identity and brand website that represents out Better Starts Now philosophy. Citizen combines a bold and sporty look with light-weight Super Titanium creating a timepiece that is not only great looking but comfortable to wear. Created from Citizen's proprietary Super Titanium technology with a surface hardening finish called Duratect. The Ti+IP timepiece is 40% lighter than stainless steel and 5 times harder to resist scratches, perfect for the man on the go.

Really like this watch
As of the time of this review, I've owned this watch for about two weeks. My initial thoughts:The appearance of the watch is just great. Enough visual elements to keep it interesting and pleasant to the eye without seeming cluttered (this is subjective of course - everyone has their own taste in this area). Kind of classy with some modern touches if that makes sense. What else can I say - I really, really like the look of this watch. No issues with timekeeping accuracy so far - again, I've only owned it a couple of weeks. Also want to mention that the contrast of the numbers in the date window make it easy to make out what the current date is without having to squint (an issue I have run into with other watches).Time and date setting functions very simple and easy - you'll have no problems at all.Due to the titanium content, this watch is very light. A little hard to get used to at first - I kept thinking "wow this thing is cheap" because of how light it is and had to keep reminding myself it's because of the titanium.Just one nitpick I need to mention - and I did not feel this warranted reducing from a 5-star rating but still worth a mention. There is no function to provide information on the battery's charge level - other than that it is low the second hand will move 2 seconds at a time rather than 1. Personally, I'd kind of like something more than that. My less-expensive Seiko Kinetic watch gives me more information about battery charge state at the push of a button and I kind of wish the watch had a similar function.Overall though, really love the watch and expect to get many great years of usage out of it.

Great “Daily”, works with every occasion
This review is quite late from purchase date, but I originally purchased this in May 2017. It’s March 2022 as of this review, and I’ve been using it as a daily, taking it off for hard labor and water activities. This thing takes a beating and keeps ticking. The sapphire lens is flawless and the titanium makes this watch so light. Only blemishes from hard use is the band, scuff marks are present, but not an issue to me. Great watch, no battery changes needed. Time is kept pretty well.

Titanium is lit
This has been a great watch so far. The titanium is lightweight and more durable than stainless steel. I accidentally banged the watch on a metal shelf at work and the watch didn't have a scratch. Citizen's Eco-Drive movement is also a standout with the accuracy that a quartz watch provides but no need for a battery change. My particular watch has great alignment with the seconds hand too.Two small negatives are the luminescent hands and hour markers could be a little brighter in my opinion. I also had a particularly difficult time removing the bracelet links to size it to my wrist compared to other watches. The pins felt extremely stubborn.

Exactly what I wanted - a tough, lightweight reliable watch that works.
This watch is exactly what I wanted. I wore an Citizen Eco-Drive Automatic for seven years that cost four times what this one did. I've been wearing this one for two weeks now, and it is an excellent watch that you do not need to worry about - just look down and reliably see what time and date it is. I work in an office half the time, the field half the time and it is a great looking and great performing watch. The Titanium construction is a little strange at first because it is so light, but you quickly realize that it is the perfect material because it is tough and lightweight. In fact, I often take my watch off when I am typing but I am able to keep this watch on with no issues.Citizen eco-drives are hands down the best watches on the market at any price point.

Stay classy...
I absolutely love this watch. It wears well with just about everything and the sapphire lens means I can wear it just about anywhere. I enjoy the lighter weight of the titanium. I almost forget I'm wearing it sometimes.Setting the time is on par with a decent Swiss watch, the crown is very smooth and easy to turn. My only complaint is the date window. It's tiny.Every part that comes into contact with the skin is made of titanium, which is a boon for those of us with nickel sensitivities. I've found it also keeps its appearance fairly well.I'm happy with my purchase.

Not as advertised
I bought an ecoline Citizen for my husband as a gift - his old one of approx. 40 years had finally died. I bought it because I believed that no battery was required and that it was light powered. When it arrived it had a card in the box saying "Battery Required". So, I returned it.It was ,however, a nice looking watch and I would have kept it if it did not require a battery. I guess the poor rating I gave it is not really true as it was very nice looking but not what I wanted.

Wonderful, replaced $1,000 watch with it
Great watch. I used to have the Citizen Grand Classic automatic (about $1,000), but the engineer in me couldn't get over the fact that it was about 6s fast a day (which is well withing the norm for automatics). I wanted to replace it with something similar, dressy, a little less expensive so I don't have to worry, maintenance-free (or as close to it as you can get) and accurate. This watch fits all the requirements, and does so wonderfully. My preliminary (and layman) testing showed it to be about 1/2 of a second fast a day. As any Eco Drive, it lasts a long, long time on little charging. It's very light, and the titanium band and case make it far less likely that it'll suffer corrosion effects, whether from sweat or water immersion. One thing to note is that the face is recessed more (under the crystal) than the pictures suggest. See if you can get some angled views before you commit, in case that's not to your liking.

Such a great watch!!!!!
I LOVE this watch. It's super lightweight. Sometimes I even forget it's on my wrist. It's also quite scratch resistant. After wearing my watch for over 6 months and never really making an effort to protect it from daily wear and tear, there are only a couple hairline scratches on bracelet buckle and ZERO scratches on the face. The luminescent hands work great in the dark.It keeps time so well! In six months it's run about 15 seconds fast. That's it. After six months! And I love its water resistance. I've worn it swimming and had no problems at all.Absolutely LOVE this watch!

Nice watch and no batteries to change!
I have a few Citizen eco-drive watches and love them all. This is a great addition and looks really good. Being titanium it is much lighter than the other ones I have in stainless which is nice sometimes. Like all Citizens is accurate and works without fault and no having to change the battery every year!

Lightweight, titanium gets darker once I started to wear ...
Lightweight, titanium gets darker once I started to wear, watch keep time very well comparing with automatic. Bracelet has one extra hole for micro adjustment, not enough. So far no single hair was pulled out of my wrist.
