In: A Graphic Novel

Artwork is lovely and realistic. The graphic novel explores themes of isolation, loneliness, and provides hope of a way out.

This book meant a lot to me, it’s truly very special to me. I connected with the characters unlike any story, and as an former illustrator, I’m in awe of the artwork and his ability to story tell by expression and scenery without dialogue. The dialogue and inner monologue and overall story had me laughing and crying through the entire book. I couldn’t put it down. I’m so grateful I purchased it. Thank you Michael - new forever fan, can’t wait for what’s next.

The artwork is incredible as well as the story. Such a talented illustrator and author. I haven’t enjoyed a graphic novel in years until reading this.

As have many people, I read this in one sitting. I kept trying to put it down, but it was too engrossing. Too ... rich. The panel that broke me came at the end, the middle of a three-pane page. I won't spoil it, but as a mother, I felt it to my core. Thank you for this - I laughed ... and cried ... in almost equal measures. A beautiful commentary on the necessity for connection and the pain of losing that opportunity forever.

There's room for improvement in McPhail's debut novel, for sure; however it left a deep groove in my mind through which the rivers of beautiful color continue to flow. The content was pure, honest, and gorgeously illustrated. By the end I was left wanting more from the narrative, but hopefully the author will continue to grow with his future works.Aside from that, I'm a big fan of Will's work and humor. I look forward to supporting his future artistic endeavors and have no doubt that he will continue to grow as an author and eye-drawer.

I bought the book because I’m a fan of his comics. I didn’t know what to expect from the book but it truly blew me away. I’ve been recommending the book to others. So good.

Will’s book illustrates (quite literally) that fine line between the ridiculousness/hilarity and dignity of our humanity. This is a gorgeous, surprising, very funny and deeply compassionate work.

An Excellent book from and Excellent Author and Illustrator. Buy it.

¿Cómo rayos se relaciona uno de manera significativa con otras personas? Esa es la pregunta que el protagonista intenta responderse en esta historia. El arte no es complejo, casi todo es en escala de grises; no hay imágenes con perspectivas impresionantes, aunque sí hay algunas a color. Lo complejo del tema contrasta con la simpleza de lo visual. Debo decir que me tomó un poco de tiempo acostumbrarme a los ojos redondos y con pupilas de puntito en las caras mas bien realistas de los personajes.

The book was delivered in good condition- which is usually not the case for graphic novels. A Wonderful read- apart from the story which keeps you hooked throughout with a mix of humour & sadness, the book is interspersed with gorgeous illustrations which will force you to dwell for more than a minute at least.

“IN” es una novela gráfica preciosa que explora temas como el intentar conectar con la gente y pasar más allá de las conversaciones banales y rutinarias, por lo que te puedes identificar con Nick, el protagonista, que navega su vida no sintiéndose realmente bien por estos motivos. Me ha encantado. Es un libro magnífico que quizá puede ayudarte a abrir los ojos.

This is the first graphic novel I’ve bought and I’m so incredibly glad I did. I absolutely loved every page, every image. So much is said in every cell, especially those without words. The use of black and white contrasted with colour illustrated the most beautiful personal transformation in the main character and the subtle use of comedy elevated this to a deep story that went beyond my expectations. I highly recommend it!
