A Must For Your Kit Because You Never Know
If you ride w/a Shimano 10 speed chain, you need to have these Shimano 10 speed chain connecting pins in your kit. These will work w/any Shimano 10 speed chain, MTB, road or gravel. I use them w/an Ultrega 6701.These pins are used to reconnect your chain once it’s been “broken”, either to remove & clean the chain or if a link is damaged & has to be removed or replaced. This is easily done w/the use of a chain breaker, a tool designed to remove & set chain pins. These pins are designed w/a guide half that is broken off after the pin is set in the link. This guide half makes it easy to push the pin into the holes of the link. Once it’s in (halfway in), the chain breaker is used to drive the pin into place. You know when it’s in place when you feel the resistance let up as you turn the screw handle to drive the pin. Once set, you use the tool to break the guide off the pin.I like to keep a few extra pins in my kit “just in case”. This proved to be good practice just the other day. During my ride, I slid on the slick trail & bashed the chain near the rear derailleur cage & bent a link. The chain would not stay in gear, it would slip off the gear. I pulled off the trail, removed the pins to remove the link & used a KMC MISSINGLINK 10R (quick link) to finish my ride. Once I returned home, I removed the quick link & added a couple new links w/2 new chain pins.I just ordered another 3 pack of these chain pins to restock my kit. I’ve used these & Shimano’s 8 speed chain pins & never had any issues. Sure these are a bit pricey, but they are quality parts.Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful.

Factory Shimano Part
This is a Factory Shimano part, so you know you are buying a quality part and not some cheap knock off. Plus, you are getting it at a discount price.

Good to have a couple of spares
I used special tool to remove old pin and replace new - it was hard to align and get the new pin in straight - so I broke a couple until I figured it out - newbie error most likely - but good to have a couple of spares -

Perfect fit.
I needed this chain link pin after I removed my chain. I have 2 chain pin removers, 1 in my bicycle tool kit and 1 for home bicycle chain removal- it's a Park Tool. It was easy to install. Watched YouTube video.

great pins
I lost the original pins when I bought a new chain for my bike. These are the same pins that came with the original chain. The pins fit well and I'm happy with the result.

Good product, bad price
Works fine with a 10 speed Ultegra. Just overpriced for what you get. I will be switching to a KMC reusable link.
