SQUAWK Sunflower Hearts (or Kernels) are made from the finest bakery-grade black oil sunflower seeds and are a great source of energy, fibre and protein. Being huskless means they will create little to no mess and can be fed from either a feeder, a table or on the ground. They are enriched with nutritious oils that are essential for wild birds to maintain healthy feathers and sharp beaks. They will attract a variety of wild birds to your garden - including smaller robins, starlings and finches - who usually have difficulty in opening hard outer husks. Hedgehogs love them too! Sunflower Kernels are the single best-loved bird food in the UK, favoured over all others. This is not only because of their husk-free convenience, enabling birds to save valuable time and feed more efficiently, but also due to having the highest calorie-to-weight ratio of any seed.

Excellent all round bird food.
These sunflower seeds come without the black shell making them ready to eat with no mess whatsoever. They are perfect for the bird feeder because small birds like blue tits , robins and sparrows can enjoy them. They are highly nutritious for small birds and keep the parent birds fed while they find insects for their young. Recommend

Birds love them
The birds in my garden are very 'discerning' and have turned up their beaks at other brands of sunflower heart. That said, I can buy a similar quantity cheaper in my local supermarket and they'll happily eat those, but these weren't sold specifically as bird food, so are probably OK if you like them in soup or salad. However, as I don't, I can't comment on the taste, but the birdies seem happy :-)

A “Hearty Breakfast”
Bought for a neighbour who is into wild birds, tells me seed disappears fast so I suppose that’s a recommendation from the birds for you

Not terrible but you get what you pay for
Covering the basics - delivery was very prompt. 2 bags well packaged arrived in good order.I decided to give these seeds a try as it was effectively double the quantity for the price I usually pay for Gardman sunflower seeds. I wasn’t expecting them to be as good as my usual purchase but 50% cheaper was enough to tempt me. Sadly they are not close enough to Gardman for me to purchase again. The seeds feel ‘wooden’, they are smaller, lots of broken rather than full seeds. There is also a fairly high contamination of Split yellow peas or the black husk that sits around a sunflower heart in the 2 bags I’ve received. The Gardman seeds by comparison have far fewer contaminates and seem plumper - I’m guessing from a bird point of view the Gardman probably give more energy than these. Certainly I’ve seen a noticeable drop off in birds at the feeder with the Gardman seeds attracting a higher number of species and volume of feeding birds (and squirrels!).I’ve attached a picture comparing these seeds (bottom mound - with black husk dried yellow pea visible) with Gardman (top mound) as that may give you a visual idea of the difference.I’m not saying this is a bad product but you get what you pay for. The wildlife in my garden is not as keen on these as the usual brand I buy and once I’ve gone through this stock I’ll be returning to Gardman.Hope this helps.
