All together, it was just an amazing 5 star read for me. Sandi Lynn did a wonderful job with her debut novel. I was hooked from the very first page and just couldn't put it down. I was completely intrigued by both Elle and Connor and needed to know everything about them. “A happiness grew inside me I never thought could exist. I was too happy and it scared me; it scared me to death because all I kept thinking was nothing lasts forever.” Ellery Lane moved to New York with her boyfriend, Kyle. In her naturally Good Samaritan way, Elle helps Connor get back to his apartment. Once the morning comes, Connor doesn't remember a thing from the night before and shows his true colors when he assumes that Elle is just another whore that he has brought home. “What's to tell, I'm a 30 year old CEO, I have more money than I will ever need; I do not do relationships; I usually get everything I want, and I do whatever I want.” Elle is like no woman that Connor has ever met. You have a beautiful heart and soul, and you don't deserve to never love someone.” I quickly fell in love with both Elle and Connor. Elle is such a sweet, giving, strong but stubborn woman. Her life has brought nothing but sorrow. Yet, she still carries on with the intent of enjoying each day. Unfortunately, her secret makes it increasing harder for to fulfill her intent. The thing that I love about her the most is that she is not afraid to speak her mind but at the same time would do anything for anyone. Connor is a typical cold, bossy millionaire that is used to getting what he wants. His sensitive side shines through quickly in his need to protect and take care of Elle. It is clear that Elle changes his whole world. “I could never understand my purpose in this world. I have had nothing but pain and loss my whole life. But now I know why God saved me the first time. It was so I could find you.” There is so much to Elle and Connor's emotional journey but I don't want to ruin any part of it. I truly enjoyed everything about Forever Black, especially the wonderful ending. I would definitely recommend this one and I absolutely look forward to even more from Sandi Lynn in the future. Review: Loved The Storyline! - This book was such a cute and wonderful read to me. The storyline was a good one as well. I LOVED Conner he was just such a wonderful character and wonderfully written. I loved seeing him being broken down and taken so far out of his comfor zone. Now Elle her character I liked I didn't love but it was only because of her immaturity but then again at her age (23) that type of maturity is to be expected for some. I thought the way that Conner followed Elle home in his car while she walked home was to cute. Especially since she made him mad because she chose to walk lol. Peyton, Elle's best friend is such a hoot! I so love her! From the clues that been dropped(reviewing as I read) I'm hoping that _____ doesn't die. Elle forced Conner to see and live life through her eyes thus really allowing him to REALLY and finally LIVE life. I just thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline, the character development, and the bond between the character and reader. The love between Conner and Elle was such a good one to me. They gave to the other what they didn't even know they needed. Again this was such a good book and it had me clutching my pearls with worry for ____ trying to see if they were going die. But I loved the way the book ended and the twist and turns of Elle and Conner's relationship. I loved how Conner was mature enough to handle Elle's immaturity and how Elle was mature enough to handle Conner's close off mess. Get this book you will enjoy it, it was well worth the money and the time hope this helps you. Sent from my iPad2

Mr. Black can be my forever!!
Fanfreakingtastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely loved and adored this book. It is definitely on of my favorites for 2013. Once I was able to read this book without any interruptions I devoured it in a day for the most part. This book tells the story of Ellery and Connor. Ellery recently experiences a breakup in the beginning of the book and doesnt really want to date anyone. Connor is a millionaire CEO, controlling, manwhore who doesnt do sleepovers. The way they met is kind of scary in a way. Ellery sees him at the club drunk as a skunk and decides to be a good Samaritan and help him home and take care of him. Who in the world does that????? Only Ellery and only in books. Most of the time the females get on my last nerves romance novels but that was not the case with Forever Black. I loved that Ellery had a mind of her own and she didnt give in to Connor just because "he said so". She challenged him like no one had before. That along with her sweet kind heart made Connor fall for her. I also enjoyed reading about their dates and how he would just pop up at the places she went to. It kind of reminded me of Christian Grey without the whole Dom/Sub thing. Its something about those controlling millionaires that gets my blood pumping! Ellery's history and story also hit home for me and I can relate to what she experienced growing up. I dont blame her for not sharing her secret right away and I was LIVID when her ex-boyfriend Kyle spilled the beans to Connor and even more PISSED off when Connor walked out on her. Instead of consoling her he walked out on her. How can you care for someone and just walk away so easily? I would not have been so quick to forgive him for that. Call me crazy but I even loved the arguments that they had after everything hit the fan. I was on Ellery's side the entire time. Connor was too quick to dismiss Ellery and send her back on a plane. He was cruel at times and I probably would have just left him alone for good but of course that would not have made for such a good story. LOL!! I loved the ending of this book and the epilogue. I felt really emotional during the beach scenes. Even though Connor had his controlling moments he really had a sweet side. I got a cavity from that sunset scene because it was just that darn sweet! There is nothing like a good happy ending to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If you havent already............... READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful Story! Must read
I read this book in one day & I didn't read reviews nor did I read much of the description. I had about heard about this series from friends that it's a really good read. I like to start reading a book blind, so to speak, I don't want to know much I want to see if I can predict events as I read and I like to be surprised. This book was not predictable at all & I love that! I felt so many emotions that the writer has you feeling in such a strong way. It was almost, at one small moment toward the end, as if you could see the writer herself or feel her emotions that may have taken over her as she wrote a certain page. This is a beautiful love story that brings up a real life challenge & it could happen to anyone. Connor & Ellery have love that holds strong. Yes, they will fight and now that I'm done reading this first book I've read people in reviews mentioning the fighting off & on. In my opinion that's expected in the situation they find themselves in. I couldn't imagine how hard that must be and this writer kept her book real! It wasn't just going to be a smooth road going through this terrible battle it was real life struggle. Connor's unconditional love through thick & thin is so beautiful. I cried so much and wasn't expecting that at all, but it was perfect. Connor is sexy & protective, Ellery is independent and strong, and together they bring out the best in eachother. It's so beautiful! I'm starting the second book now, Forever You, and I'm excited to see this new beginning in their lives!

interesting premise, good character development, needs editing
While I found the premise interesting, I had a hard time with the poor sentence structure, uncomfortable dialogue, terrible grammar and horrid punctuation. The most annoying irritation was the erroneous use of words. (When you shake your head at someone you are saying no, not yes. If you tell someone that there is no end to what you won't do for them, that's not a good thing.) The author also kept switching between past and present tense. And don't get me started on the number of apostrophes used in this book -- I could have started a drinking game and ended up with alcohol poisoning. To be honest, Connor was the only reason I kept reading. The chapter that was written from his POV was by far the best in the entire book. His character was refreshingly different from what has become the common hero in these types of romances. He wasn't already an expert at everything under the sun -- he didn't even know how to eat with chopsticks until Ellery showed him. He also didn't rush her into sex. So often in these types of books the hero & heroine are going at it like rabbits by the second chapter. It was a nice change of pace that it took a while for them to become intimate. Connor Black was just so very likeable, I couldn't even get upset with him when he messed up. He genuinely deserved his HEA. Unfortunately Ellery was not nearly as likeable. I found her to be one of the most immature and uncouth heroines I have ever been introduced to. Her first response in any disagreement was to yell, throw things, and slap/punch you in the face. The author tried to soften this up with her volunteer work at the soup kitchen, and I did have sympathy for the tragedies she had faced in her young life, but for me that wasn't enough to cancel out the crazy. For interesting premise and good character development I give 5 stars, but poor editing and an unlikeable heroine drags it down to 3.

Forever in love with this story!! :)
I truly loved this book, there wasn't a page in it that didn't captivate me. I also love the fact that the author has used a relatable and heart breaking subject for the story line. I found it made the characters seem more real to me, as I could relate to what they were going through and knew the pain this sort of life altering situation can cause, as Im sure a lot of other readers can also. Ellery is such an awesome character, so stubborn and independent, but also so full of love and life, even after life has thrown so many things her way, she still has so much to give. Then there is Connor...OMG... I loved this guy! He was a bit full of himself there at the beginning but then as you got to know him, he made you swoon and fall for him. Such a loveable character who stole my heart :) Sandi Lynn has written a fantastic story, it has romance, it has pain, it has many highs and just as many lows, your heart will swell and it will break, your emotions will go on one hell of a roller coaster and you may even develop a crush but I assure you one thing, you'll thoroughly enjoy the ride this book takes you on! Thank you Sandi for such a beautiful and well written book :) can't wait to read more of your books in the future.

Good Read that Hit Close to Home
This was a really great read! It made me laugh, made me cry, and at some points made me want to through my kindle across the freaking room. Just what I look for in a book!!!! Ellery Lane and Connor Black made such a great couple. I loved their interaction with each other. Ellery cracked me up. She was sometimes dramatic, had the occasional over reaction, was stubborn as hell. She had lost so much in her short lifetime and gone through so much, she was tired of fighting and she really just wanted to live each day like it could be her last. I really liked how the friendship developed between them and the chemistry they had. They were so great together, but yet they bickered so much because they were both so stubborn and strong-minded and didn't let each other get away with crap. Connor was so attentive and caring of Ellery. Wanting to take care of her. I liked him and how he "stalked" her. He had some of his own battles to overcome though in order for things to work out between them, but he definitely won me over. "Memories are our way of holding onto the things we love, and I plan on making the most beautiful memories with you." (Forever Black) Awe..... It drove me freaking crazy (in a good way) how they would be fine and then they are mad and walking away and then back together again, and then apart again and then back together again....you catch my drift. But Conner is a sweet stalker and can always track her down and he makes sure we have our HEA. "I was simply a man with no meaning until I met you and I'm proud of whom I've become because of you." (Forever Black) There were some parts that made me tear up and then parts that put that goofy grin on my face. The only thing that bothered me really about the book was in the first half I felt like there were no contractions used. It was kind of weird as I noticed it more and more but during the second half I didn't really notice it anymore. On a serious note, the book does touch on some serious issues. Cancer is the main one. Many people have been affected or know someone who has been affected by it. For me the book did hit close to home and brought out a lot of emotions. There are also some references to suicide and alcoholism. So this might be particularly hard to read for some, or who knows, possibly therapeutic for some as it tells you a story of two people who wont let anything stop them from their HEA.

Fell so in love with this story!
There were so many things I liked about this story so I'll try to list the main highlights only before I get carried away. The author did a great job developing both characters as strong individuals. Connor is confident, bossy and sexy as hell. Ellery is strong, sassy, full of life and does not let anyone push her around. The fact that this was a story about a friendship that turned into love made it that much more enjoyable. The author did a great job developing the characters and the story. I found myself glued to the book, unable to put it down for anything. This was so well written it was easy to become immersed in the story and really feel the emotions. Without giving anything away I can share that this story had love, friendship, passion, drama and some tragedy. This is the first book I read where one of the main characters was struggling with something so life-altering. Like I said I don't want to give anything important away but I just can't see how anyone could not enjoy reading this book. It will not disappoint!

Loved it
Seeing a man getting kicked out of the club after seeing him slapped, Ellery has always been one to help and helps him home not knowing who he is. After seeing him vomit help him into be she knows she can’t leave him alone till he wakes. Although the reception he gives her in the morning isn’t a thankful one. First seeing Ellery something about her reacts with Conner, she doesn’t do what he asks and definitely doesn’t care what he thinks, it’s refreshing to him. He asks her if she wants to be his companion, his friend, which he’s never really had a female friend before. Try all he might Conner tries to stay in the friendzone with Ellery but it’s getting harder and harder. Ellery knows that she’s fallen for Conner and she has to protect her heart, but things change between them, things are perfect. Until Ellery ex shows up. When Conner learns what her ex says, he’s mad and devastated. Ellery knows what she has to do and decides that she’s not going to tell anyone, until a still angry Conner shows up. No matter what they go through Conner knows one thing he won’t give up on Ellery, he’s finally found the one and he’s not giving up without a fight.

Unconditional Love
"Forever Black" Forever Trilogy book 1 by Sandi Lynn **Spoiler Alert** Even though Ellery lost so much during her 23 years of life, she lives her life to the fullest. She loves deeply, and she will never apologise for being the woman she is. If her heartbreak ever taught her anything, it was to live life every day as though it were her last. She has a secret but one that she won't allow to rule her life. Connor is pleasantly surprised by seeing the beautiful woman in his apartment and can't for the life of him remember the night before and why she would still be there. His women know the rules, so why is she disobeying him? Little does he know that her reasons for being there, has nothing to do with his "no sleepover" rule but something of pure selflessness. She intrigues him. Her spunk and honesty are refreshing. Ellery sees him for the man he is and can't help fall in love, but once he knows her secret, it will all be over. He already said they could never be more, so why worry? But deep down, she knows.... Will they find their HEA, or will her secret destroy everything before it even begins? This story has so much angst, heartbreak, sadness, forgiveness, unconditional love, and so much more. It's so sad there wasn't a duel POV. I would have loved to have read Connor's thoughts. He was dealing with so much pain of his own. Can't wait to read what comes next! 5 ❤️ 's
