VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Rock and Roll: for Violin

I am not a picky person, but these arrangements are absolutely a waste of money. First, they are samples of the songs--not the complete song--not a shortened version. Some literally sound like fragments. If you can blow up the picture enough, the small white print above the"100" says, "selections from". Totally worthless book!!!!!

I have a collection of Hal Leonard books for violin, some are very good, some not so good however this is the absolute worse. I tried playing many of the songs and none sound remotely like the originals. Save your money and move on to a different songbook. I am strongly considering returning because I know I will never be opening it again. This songbook would be discouraging for beginners and frustrating for more advanced violinists.Update....I tried to return this and when I hit the return button under orders on Amazon, it goes back to the original page. Amazon is blocking me from returning it!!! That's it. I will be getting my sheet music from a music store from now on. Very disappointed in Amazon right now.

I have been playing violin for about a year after taking a 35+ year break. This is just the right level. It's similar to Hal Leonard's 101 (Popular, Hit, Jazz, Broadway, Movie, etc.) Song series.One caveat (and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five): the list of songs printed on the back is inaccurate. Five or six songs were omitted "because of licensing restrictions." However, the table of contents in the front accurately lists 112 songs rather than 100. Sooo...Some of the songs are found in the book series listed above, but there are enough new ones for me.

Don't buy it.Someone simply took the vocal notes, copied them to lower key and pressed print.The is no bowing instructions, the choice of keys is bad (in most cases different from the original)

Good book with a variety of more modern music. Getting my son to practice was a chore, now that he has music he recognized it's only a mild chore :).

I can't rate this book because I bought it without realizing it was for violin. I was looking for guitar or piano music.

Mein Stiefsohn spielt Cello und wünscht sich neben Klassik auch Rockmusik zu spielen, Besonders Michael Jackson. Ich habe eine Zeitlang versucht gekaufte Noten so zu vereinfachen dass sie auf dem Cello spielbar sind und dann dieses Buch gekauft.

Interesting songs simplified for beginners and intermediate players. Would be better if sorted by difficulty level and included a dvd
