is this product interchangeable with Hach 2105569?

I don't believe so. The Hach 2105569 takes a 10ml sample and is best used in a Hach machine. The Barnant 1407799 takes a 5ml sample and is used in the Hach visual measurement kit. I use a Hach visual kit with the Barnant 1407799.

Can these reagent pillows be used in another colorinator that is not the Hach brand? I have a Hanna free-chlorine chlorinator coming.

It could be considered but we cannot confirm they will give the correct result. If you want to try it, it would be best to do so with a known solution of chlorine or side by side comparing results to the proper manufacturers reagent.

what is the difference between "free" and "total" chlorine?

Free chlorine is the amount of non-reacted available chlorine in a system. Total Chlorine is the amount of compost chlorine in a system including free chlorine, and reacted chlorine like chloramines.
