Flows very well, consistent color, great for pen and ink artwork.

I am currently in the search for the “perfect” sepia. However, especially with a sepia, it is personal preference. Let me tell you about the good and the bad: Color = Kind of a light to dark chocolate, Dry time = Extremely good, Shade (this is the most important for me) = On the right paper it is excellent ( see the attached on Bristol paper), but on not so great paper it has none, Feathering = Excellent, nothing on “good” or “bad” paper. Well you can see there hasn’t been a lot of bad things. Well in the end; Is this the color of “Sepia” you are looking for? Its all up to you.

Overall I like the ink, under the right conditions I love it.To my eye it is more chocolate (or burnt sienna) than sepia (read to the end if you want to hack it to be sepia). I have not rigorously tested it's permanence, but it has proven to be water resistant under normal circumstances.I wouldn't actually use it much except that it mixes well with the other pigment-based Platinum inks for some really unique hues. And there is shines.Here are some suggested mixes*:Add a little blue into the sepia brown to achieve a truer sepia hueMix blue and sepia brown closer to 50/50 for a transparent 'chromatic black'Add sepia brown to Platinum rose red to achieve a warmer, more pleasing red hueI still have to see what sort of purple I will get with a rose red and blue mix.*combine inks at your own risk. I haven't seen any ill effects in my own pens, nor have I tested its permanence when mixed.

The ink is Absolutely waterproof. I was searching for months for waterproof inks for use in dip pen + fountain pen + fillable in my brush pen (since I watercolor a lot). I chanced upon parkablogs where Theo, the illustration artist reviewed pens and showed that this brand was the best waterproof. I was skeptical since he reviewed platinum carbon black, but I wanted sepia- and this was “pigmented”. I took a chance. I tested it with all, the dip pen, fountain pen and waterbrush. The ink dried in a few minutes and I could use watercolor over them. 5 ⭐️

I bought this ink for writing something I wanted to last longer than me. I like the ink. It flows week and dryer relatively quickly on Kokuyo Campus paper. No bleed through. The bottle design is clever. Although my Jinhao x159 with #8 nib won't fit far enough in the inkwell to fill.Product arrived in original box in a padded envelope. The box was banged up and the cap on the bottle was obviously cracked as ink was splattered on the inside of the box.

Beautiful color, fluid and flow easy on dip pen, marginal to no waterproof.

I love the color of the sepia ink. The only problem is, is that it came directly from Japan. So, be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to receive your order.

I was looking for a certain effect from a sepia ink that would have great depth. Unfortunatly this did not. I'm sure it is good ink, but I still seek a deeper body. & undertone. perhaps I must get a Humbolt squid?

Compre esta tinta para hacer apuntes con acuarela. Seca muy rápido y se puede aplicar la acuarela en un par de minutos sin que se corra. Tanto en sepia como en negro va muy bien,

One of very best ink I ever tried for drawing. This is pigment ink, so becomes waterproof after drying. You can work over with watercolor wash without loosing clear lines of ink drawing. Highly recommended.
