Received an old batch about to expire
Just received my order today. Flavor overall seems normal (chili is a little bitter at first taste), but I noticed the expiration date on the pops says April 2023. Candy typically has a long shelf life, longer than 2 months, so these must've been sitting in the warehouse a while. No major issue, just realizing I need to get creative to go through 40 lollipops in 2 months as to not waste my money.Edit: these ended up being delicious and I’m now addicted. Shared with co-workers and went through the whole bag in 2.5 weeks. Ordered another bag (exp Nov 2023) and they don’t have as much chamoy as the April batch.

Childhood favorite.
I used to eat these things all the time as a child, usually buying them from the ice cream trucks running through town that were operated by local Mexican families, they stocked plenty of the good Mexican candy (including giant versions of these and the mango ones that I've never found again). It is definitely an acquired taste, not many people are going to like these unless they grew up on them and have a taste for the unique flavor of chili they provide. And they are definitely a bit rough on the untrained tongue. It takes some years of hard Mexican candy eating to build up a tongue that's not going to get upset when you run these things across it. Mine has actually started to bleed a few times when I get carried away and eat too many in a short amount of time. So expect soreness if you don't eat these often. The candy is perfect, and I usually take off one side of the chili at a time so I can lick on the candy while I work on the chili from the other side, very good combination. Most people will notice (and even complain) the sticks have some chili on them, this isn't because of anything except the stick being present when the chili is applied, some just gets stuck elsewhere. I've watched the creation process of these first-hand and it's a very smooth and clean process.Overall, they're great, if you know what to expect -- otherwise you're probably going to have a bit of a 'ew that's gross' reaction. Definitely buy a smaller quantity if you've never had them before, just to make sure you'll actually like them. They're a love-or-hate candy.Glad these are readily avaliable online, since I moved to the midwest it's the only way to find them short of having friends and family down south send care-packages once in a while.

Happy with what I received.
They taste and smell like they should. They are not melted or damaged. They are still in date, but the expiration date is June 2022. Honestly that is just a suggested sell by date because I know they will be good well after that date. Shipping was fast and they were affordable. I would buy them again and I am sure I will be ordering more. I haven't eaten these since I was a kid, but they taste just like I remember. These are watermelon suckers covered in a chili coating for those who have never ordered them before. It is an acquired taste for sure. I didnt like them at first but they grew on me.

Exactly what I wanted
I absolutely love these lollipops and my mom never runs out of these! I also think a lot of people dont know what they're buying and its a little insensitive to say the chili coating is moldy. Look into what you're buying before you leave a review saying how disgusting something is

Just like I remember as a SoCal kid!
I have been obsessed with these Mexican candies since I was a kid growing up in Southern California and we would buy them from the ice cream man for 10 cents each. Since living in the NW, it's been so hard to find them, especially the ones I remember as a kid. There are plenty of knock-offs where the chili is very dry and doesn't have the perfect combo of spicy, sweet, and tangy. These are the ones I remember as a kid! Sooooo delicious! I will probably eat all 40 in a week. For those of you who have never eaten these, you probably won't like them or be worried about how they look: the chili is a little sticky to the bag (normal), look like they have partially melted (normal), there is some chili on the stick (normal). But if you have the same found memories of these candies that I do, you will not be disappointed and your like will be forever positively changed.

These things might as well be crack candy. I’ve got a problem, in that I can’t only eat 1 and now must eat them secretly so not to be judged. WARNING: these are not your typical candy. They are intensely salty and limey upfront (I do not really taste any of the chili), and if you’re an avid lover of all things acidic then you can understand the obsession with these lollipops. The watermelon candy underneath the coating is also delicious and not sweet at all. More of a tangy melon flavored hard candy to finish off this amazing experience. I can’t believe it took me decades to discover these. Worth a try if you’re someone like me that used to think warheads were the best.
