For Casual/Backing Use, NOT Replacement of the Blues Harp
**UPDATES** I was wrong about some stuff. Read on.This reminds me exactly of my Blues Harp - just $10 less and without the wood comb. Sounds the same, plays the same. (UPDATE: No... no it doesn't. After gigging with it... it doesn't bend as nicely or as easily. The Blues Harmonica actually IS more... well, bluesy. Yeah, it's worth the extra $20 just for the additional expressive capabilities)Here's the caveat - harmonica isn't my principal instrument. I just play it as a filler on a few tunes while playing something else. So if that's your purpose - it's for fill, you're not a harmonica ninja zen master, but you're enough of a musician to know a crap instrument from a real one, then this is a good choice. (UPDATE: Yeah, but even so - when I play my Blues Harp I sound and feel more competent, even on an instrument I play just on occasion). For some reason $30 is less painful for a harp than $40+.In retrospect, now that I know the quality and the feel of the instrument, I would've bought the 3 pack. (UPDATE: Nope, I'd save the money and buy better but fewer harps over a longer period of time). That knocks the price down to about $23 each. I just wasn't confident and wanted to try 1 before getting stuck with 3. Now I will go ahead and replace my 30 year old C harp.

Not very loud, but nice clear notes.
Good Quality. Easier to play than the Blues Harp, but not as smooth as the Special 20.

Nice kick around harp.
I got this harp to leave in the car because of its slightly lower price point and its outstanding quality. Its an easy to bend harp with a nice tone. It is made in Germany, has a plastic comb, and brass reeds. It comes apart easily with small screw drivers and is easy to gap. It is nice and airtight. Why does this harp have a lower price point? I'd say that differences are minimal compared to my better harps. When I want a better sound, (to me at least), I might call the Big River harp a little thinner sounding. I like a warmer, fuller sound. A better harp may bend more accurately when you're trying to bend by half steps. But I wanted a harp that I could toss in the car and not resent that it was low quality when I played it. This is a great harp for the price.

One reed a little flat.
I used to sell these for under $13.00 when I worked in retail. I know that Hohner has been ratcheting their prices up significantly over the last 15 years but this pricing leaves us with only the Chinese option to get somebody started.

Sweet Harmony
I’m a novice but I think this is a quality product.

The right sound
What's not to like? It's a Hohner and if you are a beginner Blues lover and want to play the harmonica, this is the one to start with. It has the right sound.
