1/2" PT 20mm Thread Compressor Air Intake Filter Metal Silencer Noise Muffler with a Replacement Element

Well designed and came with spare filter element. Definitely a good deal. Exactly what I wanted for my husky hot dog compressor. After initial use i felt a couple small holes on the side might add some cfm for my bigger air tools so i drilled 2 -3/8" holes on the side. No change in sound level and add some intake volume. Also i was able to reverse the lid, like we did on old chevy's to add some air and with the nice gasket in the filter it seals perfectly after tightening the wing nut. Im pleased and can recommend this item without reserbations to anyone needing to replace small filter assembly.

Didn’t quite fit my Mikita 2.5Hp compressor but buy using the original inside screw with the new cover and filter it worked.

My poor defenseless CH compressor gets lots of abuse. I couldn't get filter elements easily for the original air cleaner housing, and it got a dent that kept it from sealing right anyway. This was half the cost of an element replacement. Had to stick it on a longer nipple because of a clearance issue, but $4 worth of brass nipple solved that.This one reminds me of the air filter housing on my '61 Plymouth with push-button automatic and rectangular steering wheel. Works great, even if it looks funny. And the elements are available, inexpensive and work great. Good product.

There really isn't anything wrong with this filter, it seems to seal well, and is easy to put on. My problem may have more to do with me putting it on a higher CFM compressor that it was designed for.I put it on my compressor which had a dirty filter. I couldn't find a filter the size I had, so I replaced the whole unit. Didn't pump a bit faster, in fact it seemed to take a little longer to fill.To cure the problem I got a high flow filter and housing, and it pumps up notably faster now.This one does a good job silencing the pump, and seems to seal well, just not the flow I required.

I have a 240V 2 hp *real HP*, not the c**p they try to sell you by quoting starting current draw... twin cyl iron compressor. The kind that last for several decades of continual use.It runs slow, so it is naturally not very loud, unlike the cheap 'hot dog' compressors that run at a high speed and will damage your hearing if you are in the same room...Also have a "quiet compressor"; little thing for portable use for small jobs. Twin cyl running on 120VWithout an air cleaner it is just a little quieter than the 'quiet' small one.With this air cleaner/muffler, it is slightly more quiet, but not an appreciably so.I just got it today, and put it on and it is slightly quieter, but when I turn it off, I can hear the air continue to suck into the compressor... that means the compressor is starving for air while it runs... that means more stress on the unit and higher cost for power.One buyer suggested drilling more holes around the side, or reverse the lid... I may try that, but probably the issue is how much air can get through the small paper filter.
