We purchased two of these mattresses for our daughters' new twin beds. They have been using them for a few weeks at this point, and so far we have no complaints.They were not eligible for Prime shipping, so we had to wait longer than usual for the delivery; however, they arrived on the earlier end of the time frame given. The packaging was nice, except one box was opened on one end, but nothing was damaged inside the box.Opening the vacuum packaging was a little tricky, as I wanted to be very careful not to damage the mattresses inside. Once the plastic packaging was cut off, they unrolled and immediately began to expand. They fully expanded to the stated 6 inches before the 24 hours were up (see picture).There was a slight off gassing smell once they were opened, that I would honestly compare to the smell of fresh paint. We kept them in a bedroom with the ceiling fan and a floor fan running, the windows open and the door closed to the rest of the house for the 24 hours recommended to allow full expansion of the mattress. After that period of time, the smell had almost disappeared and was completely gone after a few days (about the same length of time for the paint smell from the new beds to disappear after putting those together). I was VERY concerned about the off gassing smell after reading MANY reviews on this mattress, as well as other brands, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was not bad AT ALL.I personally like that this company stated they do not use fiberglass in their mattresses, which was important to us for our children. I also like that these are made in the USA.I would describe these mattresses as firm, which I believe is stated online, but not uncomfortably firm. We placed a 1/4 inch sheet of plywood on each of the twin beds to provide extra stability to the planks on the bed, as they were a bit too far apart. I'm not sure if this increased the firmness of the mattress or not, as some reviewers described this mattress as too soft; that is definitely not the case for us. The mattress feels firm but still provides the conforming feel you expect with memory foam mattresses. If you are looking for a feeling of sinking into the mattress deeper, I would choose a different mattress. Having said that, these are not uncomfortable at all; they provide a firm, supportive cushion, which is just what we wanted for our children's developing spines. So far, they have maintained their firmness, with only a very slight increase in softness on the top layer, so I'll be interested to see how they are after more use.The 6 inch thickness is great for bunk beds, which is what we needed for when we convert the beds to bunks. One reviewer mentioned that there was an unsafe gap on their child's bed once the mattress fully expanded. I included pictures showing the gap present on ours at the head and foot of the bed. For us, it is minimal and is no more than the gap that exists on our queen size bed with an inner spring pillow top mattress.So far, we are completely satisfied with our purchase. If you are looking for a firm, supportive yet comfortable mattress at an affordable price point, give this mattress a try!

Buying a mattress online - or probably in general - can be an anxiety-producing experience. It took me several weeks to decide on the right one, and even then, I was still nervous that I hadn't made the right decision. I wanted a soft, foam mattress for my 10-year-old. I have to say, the great price of this mattress played a part in my final decision.The mattress arrived in a big rectangular box. It wasn't very heavy and was easy to carry upstairs. There's nothing special about the way the mattress was packaged - it's just completed deflated and wrapped in plastic. So when you open the box you see the mattress all rolled up inside with the plastic wrap. You can actually see the edges of the mattress exposed. I wondered for a second if this was correct, but it looked clean and new, so I didn't worry about it. We placed the mattress on a very thick piece of particle board that rests on our bed frame. I would not suggest placing this mattress on slats. I think a box spring would be OK. I would say it definitely needs a totally solid surface under it for support, because it's soft and not very thick. We snipped the plastic and the mattress immediately expands. We weren't sure if it was OK to sleep on the same night we had opened it, but it seemed pretty well expanded after a few hours so decided to go for it.Overall, I'd say we're really happy with this mattress. It looks and feels like a quality item. Even though it was a great price, you don't feel like you are getting something cheaply made - I felt that it was a great bargain considering what you would typically get in this price range. My son LOVES it. I wouldn't say this is firm in the least bit. It's very soft, and it definitely sinks down drastically when you sit on it, but it seems great for stretching out and sleeping on. I love that my son has a cushy, soft mattress - if you are looking to treat your child to a new mattress, this is a wonderful option! All the standard size twin sheets we have fit on it just fine, which is another thing I was worried about. It's so easy to make the bed, because the corners lift up very easily when you go to put a fitted sheet on it, due to it being a lightweight mattress. I was worried about going with the 6-inch width as opposed to a different mattress available in 8 or 10 inch, but I'm glad I made this choice. It's a really comfy mattress and that 6-inch width has not been noticeable or problematic. I think I'd recommend this mattress 110% for kids and maybe only recommend it to adults who love a very soft, cushy mattress that you will be very cozy on! This is because it's so soft and lightweight that you do sink down easily on it. My son is small enough that it is perfect for him. I also love the very soft cover that's on the mattress.If you're on the fence like I was, I can honestly say I would not hesitate to buy this again, especially if it's for a child. If you're an adult, I would not hesitate if you like a soft mattress that offers supple and comfortable support.The pictures show how mattress looked when we opened the box and how it looked about 10 minutes after being unwrapped.

First, I'd like to say that I still love my wife and I hope that I will not be sleeping on this mattress for long.I purchased this mattress when my wife moved out. (see my table and chairs review also). Since it has arrived I have enjoyed sleeping on it as much as a lonely man can. Being memory foam I find it absorbs my tears well.I did not purchase a bed frame to use with this mattress. Instead I chose to throw it on the floor, because my wife had just moved out and throwing away money on something as pointless as a bed frame just seemed stupid. If you are in a similar situation and have children you'll be happen to know that my kids think it's hilarious that Dad "sleeps on the floor."I weigh about 160lbs now (I gave up booze when the wife left and have since lost 20lbs) and can jump on the mattress without bottoming out as long as I don't land on my knee or elbow. It seems the point parts of your body will penetrate the full 6" of memory foam.In summary, I would recommend this mattress as a temporary solution to your wife moving out and taking the marital bed. If you find she's never coming back you'll probably want to upgrade to something a little nicer and shell out a few bucks for a bed frame.If you're a drunk like I was, your life is crumbling because of the awful things you've done and you need a mattress because your wife left you BUY THIS MATTRESS TODAY. I can't say it'll solve all your problems (you've got to work the steps -- meeting makers make it!!), but it certainly has been comfortable enough to sleep on without complaint.
