Jacobs Chuck 30354 3/8-Inch Keyless Chuck for 3/8-Inch 24 Thread Spindle

Per some discussions by top-notch machinists, keyless chucks are much more accurate than the "original" chuck invented by Jacobs, which has the key; they are somewhere in between keyed chucks and collets.Jacobs has a great name and the quality has been right up there, for a keyless chuck at this price. I'm not looking for a few ten-thousands or hundred-thousands of inch and this is perfect to replace the awkward keyed chuck which came on the equipment-and which got locked inside the keyed chuck when I put it in there to prevent loss. Had to buy a new key to get that one out!So, no more lost keys, no more fiddling trying to get the key in and tighten, so this is quicker by far, grip is fantastic--at least what the keyed chuck was--and so much faster.Whatever you have that came with a keyed chuck, replace it with this and every time you use it, you'll love it all over again.

New life for an old 'Black and Decker' drill my Dad gave me back in the 70's. Still runs great but the chuck got hard to work.

I replaced the original Chuck on my Black & Decker Drill Model LDX220 with this Jacobs Chuck. Wasn’t sure about quality or function, but I gave it a shot. Turns out this Jacobs Chuck was a good choice! Fit perfectly on the drill and gave me a much better grip on drill bits. Also Phillips, straight, Torx etc screw diving attachments. The black hand tightening front portion of the Chuck was a much better design than the original B&D Chuck. It allows you to get a GOOD grip on it so as to tighten it sufficiently to hold the bit/attachment in place. The original Chuck would always loosen up after several uses. All in All, good price, solid Chuck!

I purchased this chuck to replace a Jacob’s chuck w/ key on an old drill from the 90’s. I had no issues w/ installing the new chuck. So far it’s been operating just fine.My only gripe is how my original Jacob’s chuck is Made in the USA and this new one is made in China. We’ll see how this impacts its longevity, because the original 30yr old chuck still works just fine, but I wanted the ease of a keyless one.I also repair medical equipment and the “new” Jacob’s chucks that some of the equipment use are made in China now too. Unfortunately….

It fit perfectly,seems to be heavy duty, works well,it replaced one of lesser quality

I had to send this back because the female threads were to small. I put in my drill model and this said it fits but when I got it, the threads were to small to go onto my drill. Total waste of time and I needed it for when it was supposed to arrive. Therefore, I had to order a different one and borrow a drill from a friend.

I specifically bought this because the Amazon product description (at the time I am writing this review) says "Country of Origin: USA". This chuck came to me in packaging that clearly states "Made in China".I bought the amazon warehouse deal on this so around half price. If I had paid full price I would have returned it since there are plenty of other Chinese-made chucks for far less money. Too bad, I was really hoping it was actually made in the USA.

The headline says it all for any hand tightened chuck. This was bought to replace a cheaper hand tightening chuck that did not have the extra micro twist to make sure bit is as tight in chuck needed for no spin of bit in chuck. Good brand, good price, great place to buy my 'things' from! Go Amazon! Thank you Jacobs and Amazon... a team taking care of me. :)

Easy to forget the premium price when the chuck works so well.

Great quality product that makes a lower quality drill work much better.

It "clicks" when it's tight but the "click" sounds like breaking glass.
