15 lb Big Game mono is perfect combination of strength and castibility. It's not that much thicker than 12 lb mono but it's significantly stronger. 20 lb is too thick. So I highly recommend this fishing line if you're targeting big fish casting from shore or pier.

My favorite
I have been a crappie fisherman for years and tried a lot of different lines and truthfully there are a lot of good products out there. But this one is my choice it’s on almost every spinning reel I own ( and that’s a lot )lol and has been for years. That being said let me tell you where I believe it is less than ideal. If you use a clip on bobber as we call them around here, this line in my experience dose not hold up well( I get around this be using a slip bobber) . If you tie more than one jig on at a time I have not found a knot that works well for the top jig, and often my line will break there.( I solve this by tieing on a leader ) For single jig a palmar or loop knot works best. I did not list all the positives of this line like great sensitivity, easy to see above water and not below or how it cast great on a spinning reel. I would not recommend this for a bait cast type reel. Hope this helps you enjoy you next fishing trip.

Always use Berkley because it is always a good line. Never has failed me. Also, made in the USA which is important to me.

Great cheap mono
Super cheap and works great. Got spools of this ranging from 10-50lb. I generally use braid but this makes for great leader and backing, and I’m sure it makes for great mainline as well. I love how inexpensive it is so I line all my new reels with this stuff and take em to the park for some test casts to make sure I want to keep the reel before I put on the expensive braid.
