10pcs Whistle Buckle, Wish Dayz 1/2"whistle Buckles w/ Flint Fire Starter & Striker for Paracord Bracelet (Black, 1/2)

These are cool buckles with a few extras. First of all, I would not rely on this as your only source of fire, but they do work quite well. Obviously the ferro rod is quite short so it is a little harder to get the spark, but it does work. I tested it out on a small jute twine tinder bundle and was able to spark it into flame very quickly. The little metal striker does pull out (with a little effort) which makes it easier to use. I was able to light fire by leaving the striker in or taking it out. The compass is actually pretty nice as well. This makes a great addition to your survival bracelets, fire kit etc. The whistle leaves a little to be desired. I found that it works best if you don't put your lips directly on it. Hold the whistle just shy of your lips and blow into it. By doing this I was able to make it work. Overall a good product. I will buy more.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that a set of plastic buckles this cheap is not really top-notch. My opinion is that basically any time you see a "survival" item with a crappy little compass attached, you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for wilderness gear. That said, these aren't bad for a kids' project set. My 10 year old son just got into making "survival" bracelets for himself and his cousins, and these have the "shock and awe" effect they like. My biggest complaint is that the striker rod on half the buckles came out pretty easily while we were playing with them, which is pretty less than ideal if you were ever actually in a position to try to start a fire with one. Epoxy the rod in place before you use them. At least the whistle is ok and that's really all a kid who's lost in the woods is probably ever going to need.

I would have put 5 stars, cause this is a really neat item. But just be warned that you might end up with a buckle(s) that doesn't have a striker. There is a slot for it, but looks like it wan't fastened to the buckle very well.

Cool little clasps. The fire starters work surprisingly well. The compases all seem to point in different directions. I'm sure one of them is pointing relatively close to north though. The whistles have no pea, so you have to blow really hard.

Cool looking little buckles. All the compasses point in slightly a different direction. I found the whistle is hard to use and not very loud. I also cut my finger when opening the buckle once.

Haven't tried out the fire starter yet but they look great. Only issue with I have is the compass sits a little high but that's just an opinion.

I had got thrm for a cub scout activity. When them come i was checking them and thry really have one more thing on them that is not listed. The pice of steel that is the streaker on yhem can be used to cut things. It is small but if you needed to you would be able. The cub scouts had a great time.

The plastic is good quality and the whistle works and the striker is good... However,i would have given this 5 stars but the Compass does not work on 4 out of the 10 buckles, and as that i bought these to sell .. i have already lost money... everything else is great .. just wish all the compasses worked.. cant sell a survival bracelet that doesn't have a working compass .
