BARKLESS Dog Muzzle to Prevent Barking, Biting and Chewing, Soft Rubber Basket Muzzle for Small, Medium and Large Dogs (2 - Westie, Grey)

It appeared to fit my German Shepard mix okay but unfortunately he was still able to figure out how to pull it enough to get his head through the top strap. When I tugged on it it did not look like he would be able to do that but after the first time(took a few hours) he got quicker at getting off (bout 20 min). He of course proceeded to chew it up, that is why he is being muzzled in the first place because he tries to eat just about everything and this is the last ditch effort after he tried eating some bulbs(toxic), a hat, a chain link fence(to get the other dog out of the kennel), the AC, the wires undercarriage of a car, etc.

I was a little apprehensive about this purchase - since I was really looking for something more in the "wire cage" look (you know, like on the original "Lady and the Tramp" cartoon). No, I don't have a vicious dog - just one that won't let a wound on her foot heal without constantly licking it. I had tried the "collar of shame" - both the plastic and the "soft" versions - she would pull those off within minutes. This muzzle really works well. She can drink AND EAT while wearing it (the eating part was a surprise to me, but she does a sideways move to force kibble between the openings in the muzzle). Very easy to size and adjust, and although she was able to get it off the first couple of tries, after some adjustment of the straps, it now stays on despite her constant attempts to pull it off... I've noticed that she still can partially get her tongue out to lick the wound, but with the muzzle on, she can't get the "collar of shame" off - so the combo of the two does the trick!

This muzzle is GREAT! I’ve never been able to cut my dog’s nails due to him freaking out and trying to bite my face off. I’m tired of spending $20 every time I need to take him to the vet to get them cut, so this does exactly what I need. Of course someone still has to hold him, but he can’t bite. It has enough room for me to give him treats though the nose hole and comfort him if needed. Only issue I have is the strap that goes over the nose and under the chin that are connected directly to the top and bottom of the muzzle though the small hole seem to have detached from it, but I was able to slip them back on. Just have to watch them to make sure they don’t come off in the future. Otherwise this does the job perfectly.

Bought this for an 80 lb Lab cross that eats everything that doesnt move on our daily off-leash walks. Its roomy and soft and has openings wide enough to insert a reward but not big enough for other things. Started slowly by giving rewards in the muzzle for a few days before trying to put it on the dog. With a little practice it can be put on quickly and without struggle. Unlike some other products, it has a lower loop that can be attached to a collar, making it hard, maybe impossible, for him to lose or remove. In less than a week he stopped trying to get it off. So far no wear on his muzzle fur so, evidently it fits loosely enough.

He is mixed amstaff/chihuahua and weighs approximately 28lbs. He can eat treats in this and with the head strap it does not come off. He is muzzle conditioned so it’s not an issue. We were able to successfully get his booster shots without any worries that he’d tear into the vet tech. He is reactive to tools and new people touching him. I highly recommend this muzzle! I like that it covers his teeth better than the open basket types. And you can’t beat the price.

Way too heavy and bulky for a little dog. Material/functionality would be more compatible for mid-size or large dogs.

I hated the idea of buying a mask for my little Westie, but this one is soft and friendly. My Westie was just diagnosed with diabetes and she did not adjust well to the insulin shots. After she bit me a few times this was my only resort, and its worked out beautifully.

I love that this muzzle is closed at the bottom of mouth but is vented well. This will help Ivan to not eat foreign objects. With others he learned how to push things through the treat opening to get at it. I initially ordered a size 5 but found it not to fit well, I contacted the Barkless team and customer service got back with me within 24 hrs and they are sending Ivan a size 4 and said to keep the 5. We will donate it to a dog in need to make thier life a little safer. Definitely recommend this product and company.

The quality and look is great, it's just that the measurements and fit pose a problem for different snouts. You're gonna have to make some makeshift adjustments if they don't fit out the box. Or else it's great.
