Mastering Autodesk Inventor 2016 and Autodesk Inventor LT 2016: Autodesk Official Press

This book is great. I bought one copy 2016 Jan13. It was so good I bought a second copy 22 Feb which I cut into segments of a few chapters to read on the bus. I have used the User Coordinate System (UCS) to do Euler angle rotations through the angles in Kepler classical orbital elements. I got the idea while reading this book.The step-by-step instructions and illustrations are clear. The tutorials teach the Inventor tools by applying them to partially completed Part and Assembly files available at the Sybex website.

This is a great book and love all the download chapters. Works perfect on my new Ipad

Not what I expected at all. I'd suggest a book by Sham Tickoo instead.

Great Book!

I got this to make up for a printed manual, to improve my skills, and to have a reference book. So far, I'm fairly disappointed. It seems to be better than what can be had for free, but not by much. Used as a reference, I went looking for "undirected angle", hoping for a brief explanation of what is does. Nope. I get instruction in the form of 20 steps to teach myself using a tutorial file. I appreciate the approach, and it seems to be used heavily in this book, but most of the time, I just need a brief explanation or a refresher on what a command does. This method falls short. Another example: I want to scale a solid. I look in the index for "scale" which takes me to free forms.. nope. I search google and find out in 2016 you can scale using "direct edit". There are also ways to scale parts by deriving them, but I didn't learn that in this book. So, I find the "direct edit" in the index and when I go look, sure enough, you can scale, but the section on this tool fails to mention where the heck I find it. I hope this book redeems itself over the next months, but it's off to a rocky start.

I bought this for my son as was preparing to compete in the Skills competition at the provincial level. The author has an excellent ability to offer the information in simple, easy-to-follow steps; he really has an understanding of the process of learning from the ground up, and is able to teach everything the reader needs to know in coherent, plain language. Anybody who wants to master Autodesk Inventor need look no further. This is the only resource you'll need.

Just getting into it but appears great from what I've covered so far....good pastime for us retired seniors.
