Perfect Balance Between Price, Function, and Portability
We purchased a back seat extender dog cover to use in our 2022 Ram 1500. Our dogs (90 lbs mastiff/shep mix; 45 lbs lab/pit mix) could no longer use the floor of the rear seat as a landing pad to enter/exit the truck. They had to jump from ground-level to seat level, which was difficult. This product is perfect! The steps themselves are made of a heavy reinforced fabric. Thus I am a bit worried about its durability. However, it folds open and shut with ease, and is small enough to store quickly. It is still a bit steep - a ramp would have provided a more gradual incline. But a ramp of the size needed would be more challenging to store. These steps collapse and store in a tote bag, and is light enough for anyone to quickly manuever. Dogs were leery at first, and it took several tries. The top cushioned rails that are designed to rest on the landing were unsteady but only because the seats are not flat. The wobble, therefore, frightened the dogs. I solved that simply by holding the top steady. This product combined with the seat extender makes traveling with our fur babies a breeze and SO much easier and comfortable for them!

Does the job for our 100lb. Lab.
Works great, our lab loves it. We use it all the time, it's tough, lightweight and conveniently folds up. Great value for the money.

Great for trucker dogs!
My dog is 145lbs and this works great for her! You can adjust steepness! Very sturdy!

Purchasing our 2nd: A review of 3 years use
We have a Dodge Ram 2500. The tailgate is 39" high. This is the only set of stairs that we can find that rises that high. It's maxed out and steep, but we have large dogs, 60-75 pounds. We used to have Great Danes, 120-190 pounds, I wouldn't trust the steps for that weight range and I think the steps would be too narrow for a dog as large as a Great Dane.We have 3 dogs. All are seniors and 2 have orthopedic problems. One has bilateral elbow dysplasia. He still wants to jump up onto the tailgate, but can't anymore. Another has had bilateral hip replacements and TPLOs. He has used these stairs for 3 years. None of the dogs have any problem navigating the stairs and they use them almost daily. While a dog is using them, make sure that you hold the stairs securely against the vehicle, they can slip. We've never had a disaster, but the stairs ALMOST dislodged from the tailgate once. (The security carabiner doesn't work with our truck.)Are the steps well-made? Mostly.1. The metal frame seems very strong.2. After about a year of use, I noticed that the stitching (thread) on the top and bottom stairs was tearing. However, it was very easy to disassemble the frame and restitch the fabric on my sewing machine, using heavy duty thread.3. The fabric, on the stairs, is heavy-duty, non-slip and rubber-coated.4. The screws, joining the metal supports, are the weak link. They loosen over time and you need to check them periodically. If you don't and you loose a screw, the steps will fall apart and/or not support a dog's weight. (The last time my we re-secured the screws, we put Lock-Tite on them. That has really helped.)So, why are we replacing them? For the last 3 years, the stairs have slid around the bed of the truck, when not in use. That 'abuse' has worn the fabric to, literally, nothing on the stair's cross-support. We want to prevent an accident waiting to happen.

Camping with the dog
Problem solved! I use this to help my dogs get in and out of the bed in my trailer’s gooseneck when we’re camping. One is 90 lbs and risk-averse (doesn’t even like jumping into my truck.) I needed a solution with extra height but not a super steep angle plus plenty of stability for him to use confidently. He learned these stairs with no trouble. It’s also super easy to set the stairs up at night and take them down in the morning to make more floor space. They’re not terribly in the way I leave them up (maybe the dogs want to nap) but I don't avoid taking them down because it’s not a hassle at all.

Light but sturdy
When I picked up the box this came in, I thought it felt too light weight to be of good quality. But, after getting it set up, was pleasantly surprised that it seems good quality and sturdy. We tried to get our dog to use a ramp, but the angle was steep and he wouldn't go up it. With some coercion he finally went up and down these steps just fine. The truck tailgate is about 40" off the ground, but these stairs are tall enough to be at an angle that isn't too steep. We are going to use a rope to secure it a little better so it doesn't move at all as the dogs climb up.

Ok for smaller dogs
Needs to be wider for bigger dogs.

Very sturdy
My dog weighs almost 90lbs and it holds her well. I’ve had it for almost a year and I have to tighten the bolts because they come loose but that’s to be expected since we use it several times a day to get her in and out of the truck. I’m very happy with the steps. It helps us both a lot.

Holds up well to almost daily use.
I've now had these steps for a year and a half, including 2 northern winters where these steps get exposed to snow, sand and salt (when being used, they are stored inside the vehicle tho). They've held up pretty well to almost daily use with a 70lb dog. In addition to that, the steps get somewhat twisted while extended during each use as it's the only way for me to get them to fit in the rear door of my truck. Then I step on the bottom to keep it stable because my dog is a coward and won't use them if they shift even a tiny bit. Long story short, I have not been gentle with these steps. Nothing has torn or broken. The only issue I've had is the bolts loosening over time and coming out. I've tightened them 3 times over the year and a half including just now, so about every 6 months. There is some rust around the bolts as well, but nothing significant.

Light and compact and easy to use.
We have had ramps in the past, but they are awkward to store in the vehicle .Our first set of steps were really good but did need some reinforcing where the fabric joined the frame. We have 4 Flatcoats so they get a lot of use. The steps fit well against the Land Rover and Mule and feel stable for the dogs who use them all the time. We have the newer steps now which are more heavy duty. Would certainly recommend.

Tut was es tun soll

Very convenient tool for the entry/exit of your pet
This item is very light weight, foldable and does not take up too much space. I highly recommend it to help an aging pooch enter and exit a vehicle. It is actually good for all pups as constant jumping from heights is not good for your pups hips and back. The only complaint I have about this product is that the straps designed to carry the unit interfere with the unfolding process. A bit annoying but the straps are actually not needed in my case so I cut them off.
