Stuff works great! Use scissors when dry, or hand-shred into fluff and stuff into seedling cells.
The stuff works great! I agree it falls apart, but who cares so long as it works? When it fell apart, I was disappointed, but then when the seeds sprouted, I was happy. So I ended up just filling the bottom of my seedling cells with a mixture of planting mix and vermiculite. Then I ripped up this wet spongy stuff up and sprinkle it evenly over the soil. If you want them to keep their block shape, you have to use a pair of scissors and cut the blocks while they are dry. Do not try to tear them by hand unless you are going to rip them into fluff. For those tiny seeds, the ones that look like black pepper, I make sure the cell is filled close to the top. For bigger seeds, I leave a little room on top to sprinkle extra soil over the seeds. Then I carefully water everything, etc. I noticed, the bigger sized blocks are much less prone to falling apart.

My seeds rotted under the mushy mess of cheap quality.
The rockwool falls apart and turns to dust. Then it turns to mush. I tried it anyway and my seeds rotted. Peas, Snap peas, cucumbers, catnip, marshmallow. 90% rot. Trying to squeeze it all back together because it falls apart like cheap toilet paper exposing the root system. I should have read the reviews before buying. The reviews are consistent. I rarely post negative but this stuff is really bad. Breaks apart and turns to powder. Zero value for money. Sturdiness level zero again.

you get what you pay for.
Be advised that if youre not careful they fall apart once you soak them. You have to be very gentle or they'll collapse in your hands. Not all rockwool is created equal lol.

Teeny Tiny
Not the rockwool I expected. They were about half the size of the normal rockwool. I can deal with a smaller size but they rip so easily. Trying to tear off one and the whole row ripped., thus ruining them all. I am now left with bits and pieces.

Feel like fiberglass
These feel like fiberglass, but they hold water and air well, like some sort of weird fiberglass sponge. This is my first time buying something like this so I have nothing to compare it to, but they seem to work well. Good value for the money, and easy to separate one from the other using my table saw.

Poor construction
This item crumbled as I attempted to remove the wrapped. Mulitiple cubes fell apart as I tried to separate them from the block rendering them unusable. I do not recommend this product brand.

Great Product
Great product but be careful with it. use a knife to seperate the cubes if your new. I recommend wideing the hole a bid before placing a seed in it and make it deeper especially if the seed is a little larger or sprouted more than expected overnight. Dont forget to use a clean small flat utensil to cover the seed and ur golden and ready to start your plant. Make sure to not overwater... small layer of water at the bottom of your tray should do.... dont try to be a minamalist give it the water it needs so to prevent from drying out... even a small bit will kill ur hydro start.
