Rechargeable, comes with a usb cable. Looks great. Two problems, first the lightning arc nubs are too close together to fit even a standard cigarette between them, so you have to light the edge of your cigarette and roll it. Second, it burns through things so quickly, that it would be difficult to start a fire. It's fine for lighting a smouldering cigarette, but I doubt it could light tinder.

I just received this lighter today, so I'm reviewing on first impressions. I will update if my opinion changes.This lighter is exquisite! The dragon design is continued on both sides of the lighter, front and back. The steel gray on carbon gray is understated, yet elegant. A cool statement piece for both gals and guys.There is no presentation box or bag, but it arrived securely packed and in excellent condition. It was almost fully charged. I plugged in to my USB port and it took less than 5 minutes to top off the charge.I've read the reviews where ppl complained that the arc contacts were too close together to insert your cigarette, or whatever. Let me say that you are going about this all wrong! You need to place the end of your cigarette flat against the "X" of the arc. Simply take a good draw which pulls the super-heated air, generated by the arc, into the tip of the cigarette, and voila! Your cigarette is lit!My electronic geek husband, who quit smoking, thinks it's awesome, too. I have high hopes for this crazy beautiful lighter. If it dies on me, I will definitely update!Update: I am having problems with charging this lighter, as well as it holding a charge. I have tried numerous charging options including charging from my computer's USB Port with the cable provided, and using an Anker cable. I have also tried charging with a 24 watt Anker wall wart, trying both cables. Clearly, the problem is with the battery in the lighter. I love the design of this lighter, so I am contacting the seller in hopes that they will rectify this. I will update again....

I bought 3 or 4 brands of electric lighters for Christmas presents. This one has the best design, it's heavier than other brands. It charges nicely, doesn't take more than 2 hours hooked up to my laptop. The flip top is nice quality, stronger flame than other brands that only have 1 crisscross wire, this brand has 2 crisscross wires. It's not perfect in the wind (no lighters are), but it's much easier to relight and it never heats up like plastic lighters.

When I first received this lighter I was delighted. It was beautiful and worked extremely well. It was great for lighting my cigarettes on the front porch in very windy conditions which was why I bought it as I have to smoke outside my house. To my great disappointment, one month after I got it the lighter stopped working. I had just taken it off of the charger as it had a full charge. When I went to light my first cigarette I got a short spark, then nothing. Immediately the power button became so hot that I couldn't touch it and very quickly the entire lighter was literally to hot to handle. I would have returned it, but after 2 weeks of excellent performance I threw away the shipping label and the box it came it. Extremely disappointing purchase and a waste of $17.99 which is a big chunk of money as I am on a very limited fixed income. I guess that's what I get for trusting a product made in China.

I got this lighter to give as a gift but ended up keeping it. I love how many times I can use it before recharging it. Plus even if there were 100 mph winds I can still light a cigarette. I would highly recommend this lighter.

Very nice device and it actually works.It needs a little getting used to, at first. Once accustomed to the new kind of flame, or is it?, it works like a charm.I find myself trying to click twice, so used to the torch lighter, that never start at the first time.The good, no Butane needed to run this lighter. Just charge it overnight with any Micro USB cable / charger, most everyone has a phone of some sort that came with a charger, except the expensive ones, they had to go a different route und their cable will not fit. Standard Micro USB will work!The lighter has an charging indicator, that stays lit, as long charging is in process. Once done the indicator will go out and you can use it, possibly for the coming two or even three days, depending on usage. The exact charging time is not known to me, but I suspect something like two hours or so.The internal charging circuit will stop charging, when it is fully charged.Regarding durability statements, it is much too early into the game, to tell.I sure hope it will last longer than a few month, naturally, the (probably non replaceable) battery is the most important component and may quit prematurely. Technically, one could expect a lifetime of about 4-5 years, will it? Dunno, only time will tell.Perhaps for maintenance a few strokes with a soft brush across the electrodes will help the lighter to function properly, as it may collect debris over time.

If not obvious from review title, I ordered the lighter that has a "carved out" dragon's head on it. The quality of the lighter is excellent though a bit heavy, and the carving is very impressive. Unfortunately, however, there are no instructions re getting the lighter to operate. It took me 2 of these lighters to figure out that in addition to flipping the top of the lighter open, you need to also flip the whole lighter such that the top of it is at a downward angle from your body- to get the arc to light. Once it lights up. you can either light your item at that angle, or flip the lighter upright. All in all, lighter is a nice conversation piece that I highly recommend

Lighter worked fine for half of day,I thought it was dead (super weird because my other lighters would last me many days) so I charged it until full (again), I got one more use out of it and then it simply stopped working,Pro: it looks cool,One side engraving so you can lay it flag on one side(this is also a cons, I rather it be engrave both sides then hate the fact that I couldn’t lay it flat)Cons: i got 4 lights out of it, it felt like the most expensive BIC I’ve ever bought

Reliable and overall superb! Lasts a few days before charging is needed. Nice weight to it and build really well.
