Comfortable with good magnification, although a little heavy when light batteries are in.

okay so this is the first time iv'e EVER written a review of a product ... so it must be really bad or really good , I cannot remember the last time I spent a mere 23 dollars on a product that I like as much as this magnifier. have used it for a week now and its fantastic .. the lenses stay put ... and are very good quality ... lenses are plastic or acrylic ... BUT clear as heck ... you can keep both eyes open at same time without problem ... you can click In one / or two sets of lenses .... they just swivel down and click in and boom twice the mag ... click out of the way when you don't need the extra magnification and stay put out of the way when you don't need them ... and OMG if you really want to see up close move the extra loop over the right eye and you can almost see the electrons orbiting the atoms ! the LED lamp is great moves and stays where you need it uses normal AAA batteries .... head band works well and stays put .... buying a duplicate set of these for my brothers birthday ... he is impossible to buy a gift for as he has everything EXCEPT for a nice Magnifier setup like these .... read poor reviews of this product .... but my opinion is this is a real nice product ... would buy again for sure ... This product was ideal for doing intricate repairs to antique typewriters or other detailed craft work. I used it for several hours a week for at least a year. Once the light stopped working, I couldn't figure out how to fix it. It wasn't a battery problem. It seemed to be the bulb itself. I would buy this product again --even knowing that it might not last more than a year. But I wish the lights themselves were more durable.

It is good for working on watches and small jewelry items. Only thing is you sometimes have to keep tightening the tension on the strap.

Nice fit, fully adjustable, comfortable to use. Has built in dual eye magnifier lens with a second flip up/down dual eye magnifier, plus a drop down eye loupe for right eye only. LED lamp centered above eyebrow is bright and is adjustable up & down. Wish it came with some sort of soft drawstring bag for storage, other than a plastic baggie. I like using it for close up work. Note- not for use with grinding or welding. Offers no flying debris protection. Safety glasses can be worn with this visor.

If I just need to use these for 5 minutes at a time they work fine. I do wear them with my glasses but the fit over the glasses is very tight. Larger glasses probably won't fit. The light is good, and one of the biggest benefits of this visor. I have to get my face really close to what I'm working on for any of the magnifying options to work, but they do work. My biggest complaint is that it's impossible to keep the visor up. The nut on the side slowly loosens and allows the visor to drop down, interrupting my work. No matter how tight I crank down on it, the visor always starts drooping. It's incredibly annoying. Since I have to be so close to an object to see anything through the visor, there's no option to just leave the visor down all the time.

I had purchased other versions of magnifying visors, but the Carson is of much higher quality than the others I have tried. Everything about these was obviously better from the moment they arrived. The box it came in was better. You might think that this doesn't matter, but once you get them, you have to keep them from getting banged up or dusty between uses. The sturdy box and reusable plastic bag keeps them in new condition. I have had these for a few years, and use them at least once per month. Working in the yard, or in the attic, I seem to get splinters or thorns regularly. These are ideal for removing such annoyances carefully, rather than breaking them off at the surface. The best thing about them is the very clear view they provide at varying magnifications. The lenses are of excellent quality. The adjustable position light on the Carson visor really works well. Others I have owned had lights built in, but they were close to useless, being too dim or too difficult to point at something that is very close to the visor. With the Carson, no more juggling a flashlight, tweezers, and the hand with the splinter. The visor itself is easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. I have never worn them for more than a few minutes at a time, but I think they would be fine for longer use. (Sorry about the joke in the title.)

Best magnifier I have ever had. It fits without slipping and stays adjusted. It is well balanced and light weight for the sturdy design. Good quality and design. I waited a while before I wrote a review to make sure that it was going to be good in the long run.
