DIY Dollhouse Puzzle Bake Shop Miniature Kit

If I rated this strictly on the finished product, I'd give it a 4, but with the problems I had putting this one together, 2 is the most I can give it.I’ve done several of these kits, and have really enjoyed the process and the finished project. I was not, however, impressed with the quality control on this one.There are several problems with this one.On the 2 sidewalls there are tabs to fit into slots on the base for proper placement. I had to cut about 1/2 inch off of the tab on the right side wall to make it sit where it belongs so it would butt up against the back wall.There are 4 support pieces for the floor panel. I had to cut about 1/4 in off of the back piece so the 2 side pieces would fit properly in place.Then there is the floor itself. I followed the directions for the main structure as they were given in the booklet. So the back and side wall pieces were glued to the base as shown. In the photos, the 2 side walls sit on the front of the back wall, with the edges of the back wall being visible at the edges of the side walls from the side. They are flush with the sides of the base.All glued and dried overnight, and I tried to put the floor in. The floor piece is about 1/8 - 1/4 inch too wide to fit between the walls. I had to break the side walls apart from the structure, which involved tearing some paper pieces that were glued in place per instructions. I now have the floor glued down and the side walls back in place, just slightly out of position and hanging a bit over the edges of the base.When I got the majority of the project completed and went to put the roof on, and it is not wide enough to fit over the top of the doorway and glue onto the back wall as shown in the photos.I’m usually pretty good with instructions, both written and photos, but either something is seriously wrong with this kit, or the instructions need a serious overhaul.I also had to severely sand down the ends of 2 of the shelves to fit them into the archway they were supposed to fit into.Several of the smaller pieces I cannot for the life of me figure out how a person would do without either a second set of hands or tools beyond those recommended but not included. How do you hold multiple tiny pieces of wire in place while you slip a small piece of shrink tubing over them, then use a heat source to shrink said tubing with only 2 hands?Unfortunately, I had this kit for 2 years before I started working on it, so a return is not possible, but if it were, I would definitely be asking for a refund.
