A Big Story in a Little Book
Even though the book is not large the story is very big. I mean this in the sense that the adventure and tapestry of the region engage you fully making it feel like an epic story.I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I welcomed the narrator at those moments where the emotion of the story was nearly overwhelming.I look forward to the next sequel to this book.

Magical!
I read this book to my son and I can’t express how much we both loved it. His eyes were wide as he hung onto every word and I wanted to keep reading even past the point where my voice was tired. The magic feels real, the story world is alive and it’s all so beautifully written. Deserves to be huge!Update - a week after we finished it, he asked if we could start reading it again!

Absolutely magical
Such magical wonderful storytelling. I couldn't put it down, and read it in one sitting. Can't wait to share it with my class in September.

Magical
A beautifully written story of a young girl trying to discover the truth about magic set in a brilliantly described world of storm birds, jinni, islands carried on the back of whales. A must read novel.
