I really like this set. The quality is quite good for the price and it has done what I need as a hobbyist. None of the pieces have broken on me.

That value for the price is a great deal. All my thaps and dies were within spec. The only thing negative I can say is that the die stock isn't very good but I have other die stocks, I didn't buy this for the die stock it's self and not should you.

this set works better than the one i got from menards for $50. pretty solid so far doesn't strip easy, only issue so far is the overly soft foam that holds the tools in is crap but add a long fold from the amazon cardboard box and it fixes the issue.

They work well &a good value.

I bought this set for my hobby room recently. I needed to drill and tap through the top of a military type gas can lid to modify it for small suction hose and return line use with a small pump. When I used the 1/4-20 tap, with cutting fluid, after the first hole I found that the lower cutting edges had sheared and rounded off on the starting thread area. This made it difficult to tap the second hole. Therefor, if you need a set for cutting through even fairly thin steel, avoid this set. It would be fine for threading plastic and softer metals such as aluminum.

I wasn’t sure if my husband would be happy about this because he’s a mechanic and super picky about his tools and brands of tools, but he was happy with this because it had all the sizes needed. Def recommend!

I have to agree with other reviewers that this set is not really of a quality adequate for continual use in a professional shop. The tap and die handles are small and of barely adequate quality to function. I did the following test for the accuracy of the thread machining: I drilled out the threads on a quarter/twenty nut, and used a 5/16ths" tap to create new threads of that specification. Then I hacksawed the threads off a 5/16ths" bolt, leaving a bare shank. I then used the 5/16ths" die to cut new threads. For both tap and die threading I used plenty of cutting oil, and an incremental forward/reverse advance technique to avoid stressing the tap and die excessively. When this was completed, and the threads cleaned of all cutting fragments, the nut screwed easily onto the bolt, without either excessive clearance or tightness.Overall, I'll be glad to have this set as a backup for the occasional situations where I need to "chase" deformed or rusty threads, or avoid a trip to the hardware store for a single nut or bolt.
