Westbrass 1-1/2" NPSM (1-7/8"-11.5 UNC-2A) Coarse Thread Twist & Close Bath Drain Plug, Chrome, 79438CP-Z

So like many people buying a new stopper, the confusion is the diameter and thread. The diameter is the inside hole size. Mine was the 1 1/2 inch size. I took a guess on the thread with what was shown. This work great for our guest bathroom. Our old one had Crome coming off. Remember to clean old putty from tub, then roll a bead of new putty. Use a drain tool to install. Start with hand tightening then tighten with the tool and wrench. Ps the Crome on this is excellent.

Wow, it is amazing how great the genuine parts look when they are chosen over the generic parts available at the retail outlet. We redid our bathroom and purchased new Moen faucet for the sink and had to have highest quality Westbrass parts for the shower and tub. This looks fantastic when combined with the decorative Moen escutcheon and faucet knob. This is high quality chrome and brass, not the plastic junk like you would get from the home center. Absolutely the only way to go!

Exactly what I wanted. However, it did not fit my drain. I had to return it. This was not their fault.My tub is a larger than standard Kohler. In fact Kohler doesn't make the drain any longer.Return and refund was quick and painless.

Compared to ones at local stores, these are thicker in the cross section that usually go bad, yet the overall dimensions are still standard. Quality is far superior than LO and HD...... The chrome on these are just amazing. They are the best ones out there. You can tell by weight alone.

OK so I believe this is a great product for the price. Installed easily, looks great, drain function was excellent.Here is the catch. I purchased 2 of these, one for each tub in the house. One of the drains had an incomplete machined surface from the casting process so I returned this back to Amazon. The other was perfect, installed and working as well as looking great. When I go to do the other tub, I will buy this drain again. I guess every manufacturer can let a bad one slip by quality control, but I researched a lot of manufacturers and Westbrass makes an excellent drain for the price point.

Seems well built - much better than the pot metal one that had to come out in chunks. Installing is super easy with plumbers putty and silicon faucet lube for the rubber ring - it's removing the old one that's all the work!

Bought 2 of these from different vendors and this one was clearly not as good as the other one. It stood really high when setting it to drain as well as it was more difficult to get it to stand up for draining. I was concerned it wouldn't pass inspection for selling our house as this was one of the items that came up to change when selling my house. The quality of the material was also lower than the other one I bought.Please note - with both of these we bought, all we changed out was the stopper piece that gets screwed into the outer casing. We did not replace the casing portion that came with it since that part was not broken and we were concerned with the potential difficulty of changing that part out. It might work better as far as how high it stands and the difficulty in getting it stand up to drain with the other portion replaced as well. However the quality of the metal or electroplating would not change. And the other one we bought worked perfectly with changing out just the stopper portion.

Worked as expected! Took longer to figure out what size we needed than to install. I don't know who in history figured out how to size plumbing fittings but, 1-1/2" NPSM fits a 1-7/8 hole, go figure. Anyways, it did the job.
